It's a bustling restaurant in a historical building. The atmosphere is lively with almost dance-y music - the sound is bouncing off everywhere, so while it's lively, it is a bit hard to hear conversations (I would avoid if you have any trouble hearing). They have a separate gluten-free menu you can request. DF/vegetarian/vegan is not marked, so if you have sensitivity/allergy to other things, you'd have to ask. They ask you if you are celiac or if it's a dietary preference, and they are also conscious about cross-contamination, in that they mention if something is cooked on a same surface or in a combined fryer.
I had the market fish ceviche, eye fillet steak, and asparagus on the side, all of which were very good. I didn't have any food-related trouble afterwards. It's not necessarily a restaurant that would satisfy the pickiest of foodies, but the ingredients and cooking seemed solid; much better than many places in a tourist trap location. It's basically kitty-corner from InterContinental Wellington, across the street from Wellington Museum/Queens Wharf. Very convenient, if you don't mind paying 45+ NZD for a steak/main dish.

Nice steak house. Very knowledgeable staff, separate and extensive gluten free menu. My Coeliac husband had beef cheek with sides of potatoes, peas and asparagus. They confirmed GF when bringing out the meal. Great service.

Extensive GF menu and a top fine dining experience. However it does pay to check that each dish has been is prepared in a celiac safe way. That was their intention but on a busy night there was a miscommunication within the kitchen. Upon us asking about whether a sauce they were offering was GF our waiter suddenly realised that a dish (just served, not touched) had accidentally been cooked on the main grill. They were hugely apologetic and told us they pride themselves on serving a range of dietary requirements. They then swapped the dish and we were each given an glass of wine for the error. We will definitely be back again, but it pays to ask questions!

Seperate gluten free menu that highlights which items are prepared separately and which are on a shared surface. When I asked for the gluten free menu the staff member seating us asked if I was coeliac. Another staff member double checked when our order was taken, and items were confirmed coeliac safe when being delivered to the table. Felt very comfortable eating there and the food was delicious

An entire GF menu just for us! Polenta chips & pork belly delish.

Amazing food! Huge GF menu with * asterisks next to items that are GF but not celiac friendly. Staff was aware of things to look out for (e.g. items cooked in same fryer not safe for celiacs). Expensive, but food is of a very high quality and worth having so much CHOICE. The mushroom Risotto, gf pasta with lamb ragout and broccoli with butter and almonds were all standouts! One of best GF meals I’ve had in a long time. I will definitely be back!

food was amazing. Gf menu and they ask if coeliac.

fantastic restaurant for coeliacs. Separate GF menu and staff asked if my girls were coeliac. Food was really great - fresh and tasty!!! Wish we had this restaurant in Auckland as we would be regulars for sure!!!
It has been accredited by Coeliac New Zealand and the staff are extremely helpful, with great knowledge about Gluten free. Have a completely separate gluten free menu, with starters, salads, mains, and desserts. A good range which was enjoyed.
