Asked about their menu as they offer gluten-free pizza bases but cooked in same oven, and wouldn’t even put it on a separate tray or baking paper. Very in accommodating and cross contamination nightmare. Apparently lots of coeliacs eat here but I’m sure they’re very poorly afterwards.
Delicious food in a nice atmosphere. The bread and dip appetizer, in the GF version, has 4 thick slices of the most delicious bread I’ve ever had! I had the steak filet, which was very good. The yogurt pan a cotta was fabulous: smooth and sweet. We went back the next night and had a mushroom and rocket pizza on a GF crust. Staff brought out a regular pizza, but realized the mistake as soon as we asked. So do be careful. To compensate us, we received a free vegetable side dish that was excellent.
Had a perfectly gluten-free dinner there a few nights ago. Make sure to let the waiter know that you are celiac, as some menu items are marked as gluten-free but are not really made separately enough to be considered celiac safe. I had stuffed capsicums which were great and gluten-free! Highly recommend checking this restaurant out as the setting and the vibe is just so nice.
Tasty food, but be warned that most of the food that's labeled "gluten free option" actually isn't safe if you have celiac since a lot of it is fried. I had some delicious snapper with kumara and felt very safe since they clearly understood cross contamination. Just be aware that you won't have many options.
