Pretty good GF menu. My son who has celiac had the ribs with rice and didn’t get sick.
— Separate gluten-free menu
Large gluten free menu. Very helpful waitress!!
Over the phone they ensured that they could make many menu items gluten free
— No gluten-free information on the menu
They said they could modify many items but I already knew what I wanted (salmon) and they said it was already gluten free and named which sides would be safe. Staff seemed knowledgeable and willing to make appropriate accommodations.
Felt fine after eating and food was very good
Food was good. No reaction. Waitress stated she would inform the cooks about my celiac.
Definitely got some gluten contamination, I haven’t felt this poorly since I was diagnosed eight months ago. Server had no time, patience, or desire to pretend to care. Scratch them right off the list..
I specifically informed the staff and the manager that I have celiac disease and must have only gluten free food. I ordered a modified GF item per their menu. It arrived unmodified. I specifically told the staff per your GF menu it must be modified to be GF. They reassured me it was GF. They proceeded to check and it was not and had to be modified and a new order made.
Brought a Nima gluten tester to test my sons cheeseburger (without the bun) and carrots and gluten was found. The waitress had no idea what celiac disease was and there was clearly cross contamination.
This place has a separate GF menu. My waitress was very knowledgeable & the food was awesome! No cross contamination. Still fine 5 hours later. Have eaten here twice now. No issues.
Staff was very knowledgeable and assured me that precautions would be taken to prevent cross-contamination. Many options and they all taste great! They were very busy but managed to keep my meal safe!
— Not at all
We explained the need for gluten free. They said the fries weren’t but then brought fries touching the bun less burger, so we had to send it all back.
— Separate gluten-free menu
— Not Much
The “gluten friendly” menu is a joke. 1. The name of it was confusing. 2. It wasn’t an actual separate menu, just what you could remove from their normal menu to make it gluten free. Ex- the chicken pasta Caesar salad is on it but just says to request it without the pasta or croutons. The burgers say gluten free if you remove the bun.
Gluten free friendly. Good food, good prices. The crowd can get a bit rough in ther dining room at times. I have observed multiple fights at this location including a shouting match that began to turn physical before the manager intervened today at 330pm. Always a show, lol
Explained to waitress I couldn’t have gluten and she brought croissants to the table. Sat them right in front of me. Then when I was ordering from the gluten free menu she was asking me if I wanted things I clearly couldn’t have. Then kinda laughed when I said I couldn’t have it because like I said I can’t have gluten. Obviously not trained. The menu says they cannot guarantee no cross-contamination. So disappointed!
Oct 26, 2019. Dinner. They have a small GF menu. Server was knowledgable. I ate well and did not get sick. I'm posting a picture of the GF menu.
I ordered off the gluten free menu received my food and new instantly it wasn’t right. Upon asking It was prepared with soy sauce and unfortunately I had a very bad reaction. Disappointed that they advertise food that is not safe on the gluten free menu.
I ate here and I ordered off the gluten free menu, but what I ordered came breaded and fried. I asked if it was GF and the staff assured me it was, but after eating it, I’m sure it wasn’t.
I’ve been to different Cheddar’s a few times, and it’s always good! I had the grilled chicken pecan saladwith the pomegranate vinaigrette but no tomatoes or cheeses. I ate the pecans and had no problems, even though it says to ask for them without. The service was great, and even gave the rest of my party free croissants after having a small mishap at the beginning!
Used to eat here all the time, all of their food is delicious, but I am extremely sensitive to cross-contact so even the drinking glasses (washed with other dishes) cause a minor glutening. Our waiter let us know that there is no separate prep area or fryer free of gluten. Their salads are amazing though, so if super-sensitivity isn't an issue, eat away!
Our son has ordered off their gluten free menu several times and did not get sick. Be sure your waiter or waitress is knowledgeable about celiac. If not ask for the manager to help you.
Do NOT have a dedicated fryer for GF items! They also fry items together. Still plenty to choose from and staff was friendly enough and honest when answering my questions about these practices. Just know that there are many fried items on the GF menu that cannot really be considered GF- to me, this is misleading as it goes beyond cross contamination. They are frying many items simultaneously, so there’s no way it is safe. My server was great, as was my meal. I remember frequenting Cheddar’s before diagnosis and always liked it. It is also apparent they’ve elevated their food and atmosphere in general since then, too. When my food came out, my husband had food envy and wished he’d ordered GF. Pics of his food and mine. 😂
Separate gluten free menu. Staff knowledgeable and helpful. Ate there late at night for dinner after long drive. Didn't ask about separate fryers as didn't want any, but they had them listed on GF menu. Lots of entree and side options. Did not have any reaction and I am super sensitive so pleased overall. Nice atmosphere/decor. Though no GF desserts, waitress made me a generous ice cream with hot fudge that was delicious.
Staff was great. I had a Ribeye and steamed broccoli. Requested both Gluten free, dairy free and totally plain. Food was definitely not gluten-free. I am now in day two of a celiac reaction and am in a lot of pain. I would definitely not recommend Cheddars for a person that has celiacs disease.
Although there is a gluten-free menu the server had little knowledge about food choices. Dinner was ordered without sauce as recommended on the menu, we told the server about the wheat allergy and dinner came out with the sauce on the side which had spilled onto the plate. It took 30 minutes to get the manager to our table, by then everyone had finished eating.
There was a gluten friendly menu with a bunch of options. This isn’t a dedicated GF kitchen and they acknowledged the potential for cross-contamination. I ordered the lemon pepper whitefish, and it was excellent. I had no aftereffects so I’d say the meal was GF. I took off a star because there was no GF dessert option.
They do emphasize they have gluten friendly options. I have eaten here twice and had no problems. First time the waitress told me they take "allergies" very seriously. (I usually say allergy or let them assume I am gf because of an allergy.) Second time the waitress listened to my spiel and just said ok.
I wish I didn’t have to select one star. The staff was not knowledgeable at this location and I was served cold food with butter. (I also have a dairy allergy which I made sure up front was well known) the manager this night was very accommodating and had my food remade, it was very kind gesture but took almost 2 hours of waiting since we were sat.
Ordered the Dijon Chicken and Mushrooms (which was delicious) and realized I had gotten glutened upon leaving the restaurant. Not sure if it was cross-contamination (which isn’t usually a big problem for me) or the sauce over the chicken or the seasonings in the rice. (I asked the server before ordering about the seasonings and was told they everything on the ‘Gluten-Friendly Selections’ menu was gluten free.) Celiac
I go here frequently because I’m worried about getting sick. Ask for the GF menu and let the waiter/waitress know as well. I’ve been here a dozen times with no incident. I typically get the peppered white fish. It’s a scratch kitchen so food will take a bit.
I was so excited to eat here because they have a large GF menu available online. I studied the menu and ordered a salad off of it. Some salads said that you needed to order without croutons and some said there were none on it. I ordered a salad with no croutons even listed and it was served with croutons and a big ole roll on top. Not happy.
nice menu. knowledgeable staff. ordering setup so that computer alerts cooks for all gluten free modifications.generous yummy salmon salad.dedicated fryer for fries which we're good.no bread options.
I enjoyed a great meal with the family. The inability to order a house salad that was gluten-free and dairy-free is the only reason I rated them down at 3-stars. With such a large gluten-friendly menu, ordering a plain house salad without croutons, cheese or eggs should be within the realm of possibility.
I got the chicken pecan salad with no croutons or croissant (you have to be VERY specific on what you don’t want) and with no cheese. The food was absolutely scrumptious and they have a dedicated french fry frier so I was able to get some and be perfectly fine! The staff is semi-knowledgable and is accommodating to your needs. Unfortunately, my group’s order got messed up multiple times and I had to send my salad back to get remade because they put the croissant on it after I asked them not to. The manager came and apologized about everything, then took my salad off of our bill which I was very appreciative of.
You can eat gluten free here if you are very clear and specific as the staff vary in their knowledge of gluten. In my experience, they will put a croissant on any salad unless you clearly say you don’t want that. That is a great customer service thing if you don’t have a gluten issue, but not at all ideal if you do. I’ve done the choose two lunch of salad and baked potato and I’ve also had the Key West Chicken and shrimp. Both tasted fine and I didn’t get sick. This usually isn’t my first choice of a place to eat, but I can make it work if needed.
They have a dedicated GF menu. Fries are cooked separately. I always bring my own bun due to being gluten, dairy, egg and soy free. Enjoyed dinner out with family.
They have a gluten free menu and the staff was very accommodating to my allergies. The manager came out to make sure everything was covered. They read the ingredients list for everything I ordered since I also have a soy allergy. Food was good too!
