Although they advertise gluten free it’s not actually safe as they use all the same cooking equipment and fryers. There is no gluten free bread and the waitress could really only offer one or two dishes which had bread removed and replaced with avocado. Also very overpriced. I would not rate this as Celiac Freindly at all.
Server seemed knowledgeable of gf options. There were a few menu items that were available. Had the tamales and eggs for breakfast. Tamale was fair (having lived in Denver and having a neighbor who made homemade tamales, this one couldn’t compare). And I’ve had better tamales from Costco. But overall food was decent. For a few bacon slices and they were fair. Not worth $1.50 each. Could have been thick cut bacon. Also was told gf waffle is made on same waffle maker as gluten waffles so not Celiac safe.
good food. I got the breakfast quesadillas with corn tortillas. cross contamination for waffles and pancakes. they also don't have gluten free bread. however If you're not sensitive to cross contamination my husband got the GF waffles and said they were the best waffles he's ever had in his life.
Not necessarily a GF restaurant, however, many menu items can accommodate a GF diet (if NOT) sensitive to cross contamination. Staff was very accommodating to offer salad in place of bread (as no GF bread option available). Great healthy menu offerings.
The food here was amazing.... too bad I didn't get to eat any of it. They advertise gluten free options such as gluten free waffles and corn tortillas but they have the same fryer for everything. They fry their tater tots in the same fryer with their corn tortillas. They also have gluten free waffles but use the same waffle maker that they use for their regular waffles. I am a little disappointed by the half-executed plan to be a gluten free restaurant. If you're going to advertise gluten free, at least go the extra mile to buy an extra waffle maker.
Such a wonderful experience! Have eaten at Cheeky's many times prior to diagnosis, and was so happy to see gluten free items on their menu. Our server, wish I knew his name, was wonderful! He truly understood Celiac and gluten free, even noting the difference between gluten free fad dieters. I had the pea + ricotta scramble with a side of avo (substituted for the toast), and shared the bacon flight. Really delicious, and no reaction. Their GF waffle is listed in other reviews, but once I asked him about it he did not recommend it for Celiacs as there is only one waffle iron and it is not cleaned in between uses. Would highly recommend! Plus they have Blue Bottle Coffee, yum!
