I had the shepherd’s pie and it was flavorful and delicious! Our waiter seemed very knowledgeable about gluten allergies and celiac and made suggestions about GF menu items. I had the gluten-free cheesecake with fresh strawberries for dessert, and it was also delicious! I felt safe eating here, and will be back.
My husband and I ate dinner there last night. There was a glitch in the kitchen and they gave my gluten-free tacos to someone else, so they brought out a (free) salad for me while they made new tacos—which were delicious! The server could not have been better! She was very attentive and ensured I received the correct dish. They also comped my cheesecake to make up for the long wait. I will go back!
The Cheesecake Factory has an extensive gluten free menu. Gluten free options include pasta, burgers (with buns), and cheesecake for dessert.
I’ve been to other cheesecake factories and usually have the GF shepherd’s pie, never been glutened. Ordered it and mentioned “shepherds pie prepared gluten free, please, it’s an allergy” waiter didn’t write anything down, red flag #1. when the plate came a different person dropped it, that should’ve been red flag #2, I turned to ask the person but they ran away fast. About 15 min after finishing I’m stuck in the parkmeadow’s mall bathrooms which all have broken locks on the stall doors. Wonderful.
My sweet waitress was so worried that she double checked my order with the manager just to make sure it was gluten-free.
I am the only celiac in my family so sometimes I hate going out but our waiter was AMAZING! She let me know what brand of pasta the GF was and I throughly enjoyed my meal. almost 3 hrs later and I have a happy tummy. They even have GF cheesecake!!!
A very snarky employee told me their food touches all the other gluten food. I asked for a piece of cheese cake and he told me he couldn't get it out without touching it against gluten. I am a realist celiac. I get that it's not a sterile environment but I also know he had food I COULD eat and was not about to try to waste his time. He clearly was irritated with my presence. I left with a lump in my throat. :( super sad.... Worst case scenario celiac service.
I'm so disappointed and so sick. Don't eat here if you're even slightly sensitive.
My fiance eats GF when we are together, so we both got pastas. We were assured they press a special button and take what I'd think are all the normal precautions. And maybe they do. They have a gluten free rotini (which was also cooked a bit over in my opinion). But he found long strips of onion (not in his dish) as well as not one, but TWO different types of pasta. And I found in mine the different type of pasta as well as other things that didn't belong in the dish such as peas. Don't eat here. I'm so sick. I give them a one star rating only because it should be clear that there is no safety here.
Our server was lovely, but I don't think they do any training on food safety for people with sensitivities. Our forks were placed directly on the table, where bread was spilled just a bit before, for one.
The manager was disappointing when he came to talk to us. On the brightest side, our food was comped and we got free dessert, but he was dismissive and quite frankly not sympathetic.
I don't think they learn from their experiences, especially considering all of these negative reviews along with the manager's conduct. I would not eat here. Ive eaten at other Cheesecake factories; same your money on literally any other restaurant unless you want to he dismissed when you try to explain how sick you get when restaurants say they can accommodate but then things like this happen. There are plenty other great celiac friendly restaurants in Fresno.
