We had an awful experience here. My 13 year old was diagnosed with celiac 5 months ago & this was one of our first times venturing out to eat for my birthday. We called ahead & they said they understood celiac & would take special care. She ordered a gf pasta. A few bites in to the fusilli gf pasta, she pulled out a bow tie pasta. We pulled over the manager who admitted to us that they cook the gf pasta in the same pasta water than all the other pasta. We were pretty upset. He offered to remake it, but was planning to prepare it in the same manner. I asked him to please prepare the new pasta in a clean pot. He said he would and we were quickly presented with a new plate. She put her fork in, and this time pulled out a spaghetti noodle. Exasperated, we called the manager over & he was dumbfounded as its presence in the new pasta and had no explanation. At this point she was done trying. They took it off the bill & gave her a gf chocolate cheesecake for dinner which was quite delicious. I would never take someone with celiac there again, as they clearly do not understand the severity of gluten to the diagnosis.
I was very impressed whe i ate here. They clearly had gluten free options labeled on the menu and even had 3 gluten free cheesecake options! The server even knew what celiac disease was and they were extra careful. I got the green chili chicken enchiladas. They were amazing and I had no reactions!
I asked my server for a Gluten Free menu and she said they are marked on the regular menu. It says that there is no separate fryer and that the items may share some equipment. I asked about the Corn Tortillas for the Tacos, they are cooked over the same grill as other non GF items. I ordered my favorite salad, pre-Celiac diagnosis, a Ceaser’s salad no croutons, the Shepherd’s Pie which was huge and had a yummy gravy mixed in with the vegetables and meat with mashed potatoes on top, and the Flourless cake Chocolate Godiva Cheesecake for dessert. The order ticket was marked GF and I was assured the item would be prepared GF so I felt safe. It’s nice to know I can still enjoy a meal there!
