A coworker ordered a slice of the gluten-free cheesecake along with a dozen slices of other types of cheesecakes. The gluten-free cheesecake was not labeled so we had to figure it out by process of elimination and by reviewing the menu. I got so sick from the few bites of gluten-free cheesecake. I wish I had not eaten it but I felt pressured to because the coworker had ordered it just for me.
They were super accommodating. We asked and were told they have a dedicated frier, but can never guarantee 100% no contamination. My daughter, who is gluten allergic, had fries and plant based impossible burger with GF bun. I had a bite and it was really good. They made sure that they changed gloves and used different utensils as well. Finally, she had the low-licious cheesecake with strawberries. Make sure to get it with real whipped cream not the low sugar one.
I ordered the Cobb salad and the GF cheesecake and I got very sick. More sick than I have ever gotten since finding out I have celiac. It seems like it was more than cross contamination like maybe the order was not gluten free at all or maybe even food poisoning. I would not recommend going there if you have celiac.
The Cheesecake Factory has an extensive gluten free menu. Gluten free options include pasta, burgers (with buns), and cheesecake for dessert.
Had an amazing server (Steph) who took my concerns seriously and talked to the kitchen to verify cooking oils. Menu clearly states what can and can’t be made gluten free - I’ll update this if I have a delayed reaction but so far it’s amazing - the unsafe food in the picture is my friends meal the salad and fries are mine
For a restaurant with extensive GF options, I expected much more. The server was not at all knowledgeable about GF, but was so kind and asked a lot of questions, I asked to talk to the manager who told me their are supposed to have dedicated fryers but he know that the chefs “throw anything in any fryer” and he was really kind about it and I appreciate the honestly. They ran out of GF pasta. Wound up with a burger and fruit, and didn’t get sick and appreciated the manager double checking everything.
I was nervous to come here because of the previous reviews, but I had a great experience! They have a dedicated GF fryer and explained that they change gloves and make GF items on cleaned surfaces. There was one GF appetizer option, the corn tamales, which were pretty good! Got a burger and fries as my meal, and the Godiva Cheesecake for dessert. Most importantly, I did not get sick!
Beware of cross contamination! Even there are a lot of gluten free options in the menu, we asked about gluten free pasta and they boil it in the same water than regular pasta. We asked if they could boil it in new water and they refused. Make sure to ask how your food choice is cooked before ordering!
