I tried ordering a fish dish, but the only way they could make it gluten free was to use a different (more expensive) piece of fish!! I ended up just getting salad.
Remarkable food and totally safe! When we walked in and the manager checked his sheet, he said, “Two Celiacs, right?” In the corner of the menu it said, “Tell is if you’re celiac or just gluten free. We understand there’s a big difference.” We had a cheese plate appetizer with GF brioche and two wonderful Italian seafood entrees.
A little pricey, and a small space. However the food was amazing, and the safe ensured it was a safe experience for someone with celiac disease.
I called and asked which items can be ordered gluten free. I would say 90% of the menu. We use Door Dash to get it delivered.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Bethesda. It is DELICIOUS with an awesome amount of GF options. They even have GF pasta so almost anything can be GF. Crab cakes are safe and are amazing. You can get a good brioche roll for $2. Highly recommend.

Got crab cakes and salad. Husband got scallops. Very good. Service a little slow, but knowledgeable about gluten issues. Make reservations for sure, usually quite busy.
I had the halibut and shared the gf crab pasta. Food was great! The staff assured me that the kitchen does really well with allergies - I did not get sick. You can order almost everything on the menu gf. Wonderful flavor and staff!

The food was great! Staff seemed knowledgeable and were very helpful. They did say they don't always gf pasta and we happened to get the last serving of it so keep that in mind if what you're craving is pasta. I'm pretty sensitive to CC and didn't get sick so we will definitely be back!
I am a celiac and have been to numerous very nice restaurants on dates with my wife, but this is the first one that I don't feel guilty spending the money because we truly feel the food is worth it. We come to Bethesda for NIH once a year and a visit to Chef Tony's is an important part of the trip.
Food is great, but lack attention to detail regarding GF, and service is really slow. Still have flour bread on table after saying I was GF to three people, and the GF bread was never brought. Waited about 20 minutes before order was taken on a Wednesday night, so obviously there are staffing issues. Overall friendly place, I'd recommend it, but expect a very slow experience.

Came here with my father and had an amazing dinner, I'm gf and df and had an angry orchard, oysters, and fish filet over vegetable medley with olive tapenade it was AMAZING I ate every bite!!
Almost anything on the menu can be made gluten free. Chef Tony and staff are quite knowledgable about gluten-free food and cross contamination. Live the freshness, variety and presentation.
Pretty much no matter what we asked if it could be made gluten free, he said, "we can make it happen." And they did. Filet mignon satay was delicious. Also has the scallops, monkfish, and caprese. Everything was so wonderful, and our waiter was very knowledgable and super nice. Would be back tonight if we were staying!
The waitstaff was amazing and they knew not just about gluten, but also about cheese and wine and everything they offered. It was great food and I didn't feel deprived at all not having gluten. For those who like crab cakes, they make a crab cake that doesn't have filler. It was great!

i've eaten here now 3-4 times and always had a great experience. the staff is well trained on which items are gluten free, and the restaurant itself is very GF friendly. food is really good too!
