Chili Thai Takeout

I'm celiac. Moved back to Ottawa just prior to the pandemic and have been on a hunt for gluten free restaurants as I rarely eat out. My gf found out they had gluten free items and that the cook herself is celiac. After several times ordering with no reaction. I highly recommend this place.

Ordered gf pad thai. I started to explain that we had celiac, and then it wasn’t just a… The cashier cut me off and said OK ‘I know.’ When I picked up the food, I also asked about the peanuts, and the cashier was very annoyed with my question about the possibility of may contain. She pointed to the chef, and said that she had coeliac too. That was last night. Today my son spent the day in the washroom, passed out three times can’t feel his extremities threw up etc. etc..

Unfortunately, I ve been 4 times and i ve been sick all 4. The taste is wonderful, however...

I know they say that the cook has celiac, but there must be a cross contamination somewhere.

I ve gone back several times in the hopes that I was sick due to something else...but obviously not the case.

I’ve called and spoken on the phone about gf options a couple times now and they’ve always been very knowledgeable and quick to answer my questions. They know which items are safe and will make swaps with things like sauces to accommodate you. Delicious curries!

The owner has celiac disease and was very helpful when I placed my order. The restaurant even followed up with me afterwards. We will be back! Ordered: green curry and pad thai.

This is the most celiac friendly place. Both the owner and the head cook are celiac. Plus the food here is out of this world delicious. It’s a real must.

What an incredibly authentic and delicious meal. The staff is very knowledgeable, the owner and head chef is celiac and will make any dish safely gluten free. So tasty and fresh, the curries are to die for!
