Hard shell tacos work for a GF option. Bowls can also be GF.
I have eaten here 4 times since going gluten free. The first 3 times went pretty good. No problems. But yesterday was a bad day. I went to lunch with my sister and had a burrito bowl. Same as usual. I've been having a bad gluten reaction today. I'm sick in bed now with stomach issues. Unhappy and not feeling very trusting.
This location is great. The staff, as soon as I mention gluten free, change their gloves, utensils, and get separate cheese. They make sure only people with new gloves touch the food and nobody else. Very safe for gluten free, reasonably cheap, and great food. I'd highly recommend to any Celiac. Never ever had a problem here.
Chipotle does not have a gluten free menu but instead has a list of gluten-containing ingredients to avoid. Cross-contamination is a concern, however, so let the person taking your order know that you are gluten free and if you need them to take the proper precautions.
From their website: "If you avoid gluten, don't eat our flour tortillas. If you are highly sensitive to gluten and would like us to change our gloves, just let us know at the start of your order. You should be aware items containing corn, including corn tortillas (chips, soft corn, and crispy corn tortillas) and corn salsa, may have a small amount of gluten from potentially co-mingling with gluten-containing grains in the field."
We love Chipotle for easy GF and allergy-friendly meals. I can get a bowl for Gluten Free, and my son with a bean allergy, can easily avoid beans with his meal.
Happy to be able to order without worry tonight. You can just ask for the person preparing your food to change gloves!
Took my celiac son there yesterday, told them I needed celiac safe, they wiped down everything, changed spoons, brought out fresh stuff, washed hands, changed gloves. Awesome, no problem!
Chipotle is always a great choice for GF. it is very easy to select your favorite items and make it gf. All the ingredients are very fresh and a great gf selection!!

Hands down the best chipotle experience I have ever had. They were so kind and thorough when I asked them to change gloves and spoons. They brought fresh lettuce and cheese without me having to explain-zero eye-rolls at my requests! They even offered to wipe down the line for me despite the growing number of customers behind me. Great customer service!
— No gluten-free information on the menu
Chipotle has definitely improved as a whole with accommodating to customers with allergies. Having gone to several franchises around the U.S., the Crystal City location is doing a great job following guidelines when dealing with an allergy. The two recent times I have been here the staff has clearly communicated that I had an allergy, changed their gloves, washed their hands and got ingredients from the back to avoid cross contamination. I would definitely recommend going here and checking Chipotle’s online allergy menu ahead of time if you are unsure what you are going to order.
