The staff did more than I even asked to prevent cross contamination! I asked if they would change their gloves for an allergy, they asked what allergy and after hearing gluten they wiped down the serving area, changed utensils in all the food and used new lettuce and new cheese to avoid cross contamination! Then they washed hands and re-gloved! Was very grateful and impressed.

Great tasting food but I don’t think it’s totally gluten free... got sick a while after eating here once.

Notes

Chipotle does not have a gluten free menu but instead has a list of gluten-containing ingredients to avoid. Cross-contamination is a concern, however, so let the person taking your order know that you are gluten free and if you need them to take the proper precautions.

From their website: "If you avoid gluten, don't eat our flour tortillas. If you are highly sensitive to gluten and would like us to change our gloves, just let us know at the start of your order. You should be aware items containing corn, including corn tortillas (chips, soft corn, and crispy corn tortillas) and corn salsa, may have a small amount of gluten from potentially co-mingling with gluten-containing grains in the field."

Chipotle seems to be celiac friendly as long as you stay away from the flour tortillas. The tortillas chips are celiac tested and approved!

This worked out in a pinch. The staff did accommodate after some persistence. The server was able to get fresh sealed toppings to make my rice bowl. Kept it really simple with beans, rice, lettuce. Clean spoons. It was also a really busy weekend and at the lunch rush. Not ideal , yet worked out. Felt ok.

The best experience for gluten free. They understand my allergy as everything is gluten free except the wraps. They even change all the spoons and change all of the cold ingredients. Before they serve my food they wash their hands and change their gloves with just me saying I’m gluten free. I go so often they know my gluten free needs before I even walk in the door.

Writing this in hopes to help newbies navigate their disease. Changing gloves doesn’t help you here. Multiple times the utensils will touch the floor wraps and go back into the items. High risk for cross contamination. Just because someone says they did not get sick doesn’t mean it is not harming them in other ways. Not safe for Celiacs.

My go to place in Cedar! I don’t ever ask for separate things because I’ve never had a problem with cross contamination here! I get a bowl every time and every time I’ve felt great. Perfect for dairy allergies and vegans too! Check out their allergen menu online :)

My celiac partner came here before an event and we had a fine experience. We did not get glutened, the employee changed their gloves to my request, but it was quite possibly the worst chipotle we've ever had. The chicken was burnt and the rice was not fully cooked and dry. Nothing tasted right.
