Wouldn't recommend. They clearly don't train employees anymore on how to deal with Celiac. We told the server 3x that we needed them to get new utensils and she only changed 1 spoon in the rice (but no other items in the bowl) before ignoring the request for proper procedure. I blame poor training on her inability to do what every other Chipotle has done. Still the place was practically empty and we stupidly took a chance that the bowls we ordered would be ok on the cross-contaminated gamble. They weren't and both of us got sick. Would not recommend for celiac at all.
Chipotle does not have a gluten free menu but instead has a list of gluten-containing ingredients to avoid. Cross-contamination is a concern, however, so let the person taking your order know that you are gluten free and if you need them to take the proper precautions.
From their website: "If you avoid gluten, don't eat our flour tortillas. If you are highly sensitive to gluten and would like us to change our gloves, just let us know at the start of your order. You should be aware items containing corn, including corn tortillas (chips, soft corn, and crispy corn tortillas) and corn salsa, may have a small amount of gluten from potentially co-mingling with gluten-containing grains in the field."
I casually mentioned before ordering that I was gluten free. The server immediately informed all the other employees, who changed out their gloves for new ones. Then, before assembling my burrito bowl, they put clean serving spoons in each of the items I would be needing. I was very impressed with the level of care they took. I didn't feel sick at all after eating there.
Cross contamination got me even though I wrote on order that I had celiacs AND called to make sure they saw it. Not sure what was done to prevent but from my reaction, worst ever, they didn’t do anything.
As a mom of a recently celiac diagnosed kiddo (11yo), we are still learning how to adjust. Based on other reviews here we decided to try this chipotle location. Wow. They did everything others said, washes hands, changed gloves, cleaned, changed spoons and only one person handled my sons food, then they bagged it separate so it wasn't touched. He was nervous cause some places made him feel like a burden, not here, he said he felt special and really appreciated how he was treated. The food was really good. We will definitely go back there.
We eat at chipotle frequently. They are willing to change gloves. All ingredients, besides flour tortillas, are Gluten free. Could be in issue with cross contamination for cheese and lettuce, but they sometime accommodate by using the fresh containers stored below.
I have mixed feelings about this location. I’ve had good and bad experiences here. The employees who have helped me look annoyed when I’ve mentioned that I have an allergy but they will change gloves. One employee walked away and tried to give my bowl to the next person before realizing his mistake. They also tried to put a wrapped tortilla in my bag 🥴.
