We enjoyed our GF lunch at Chipotle. Duluth can be a challenging place to find safe restaurant food if you are a sensitive celiac. We always avoid the salad that is cross contaminated and the tortillas. Allergen/ingredients list is available to confirm which items are GF.

Very uneducated about cross contamination. The manager/team lead refused to allow getting separate ingredients to prevent cross contamination. He said “just use a new spoon and you’ll be fine” and made the employee serve the ingredients from the contaminated containers.

This was an online order only place - and was very late on the pick up time. The pop machine was not working. There was a lot of cross-contamination - things that I did not order that got into my food- I did not finish my food when I noticed this. My stomach started hurting within 15 minutes, and I had to spend the rest of the day ‘inside’ while on vacation. :(

Notes

Chipotle does not have a gluten free menu but instead has a list of gluten-containing ingredients to avoid. Cross-contamination is a concern, however, so let the person taking your order know that you are gluten free and if you need them to take the proper precautions.

From their website: "If you avoid gluten, don't eat our flour tortillas. If you are highly sensitive to gluten and would like us to change our gloves, just let us know at the start of your order. You should be aware items containing corn, including corn tortillas (chips, soft corn, and crispy corn tortillas) and corn salsa, may have a small amount of gluten from potentially co-mingling with gluten-containing grains in the field."

Knowledgeable staff. They wash hands and change gloves when notified customer has celiac disease. Grabbed fresh cheese and lettuce from the cooler to avoid cc.

The staff is very knowledgeable about celiac disease and food allergies, they are always kind and helpful. Every time I go they wash their hands, change their gloves, and get my food fresh from containers from the back.

Everything here is GF, except the flour tortilla wraps. If you get the bowl you get more anyways. The food is amazing, every time, and you don't need to ask about sauces or worry about cross contamination on the stove, etc. Always happy with my food and service, but the Duluth location gets busy so expect a wait time.

Everything is naturally GF besides the flour tortillas. They'll change their gloves if you tell them it's GF.

bowls and corn tacos are safe for gluten sensitive and celiac just make sure to ask the workers to change their gloves and wash their hands as flour tortillas are not safe.

This location changed gloves when I asked them to. No reaction. You would want cheese from the back because they use their gloves hands to serve the cheese.

The change the spoons but how does that help? If the food already has cross contamination clean spoons won’t fix it. I enjoyed the food but paid the price of cross contact of food.
