The staff always does an excellent job changing workspaces and gloves, but I've eaten at 3 different chipotles and every time my stomach gets a severely sharp pain after eating. I'm not usually that sensitive, but it's the truth.

Great food! The staff changes their gloves as to not contaminate the corn tortillas. They will also get fresh cheese and fresh lettuce from the back since other staff members put their glutened gloves into the container. Staff is always accommodating and friendly even though we usually slow down the line!

Great awareness of gluten allergies. The server immediately changed his gloves when my husband shared his gluten allergy and asked a co worker to get fresh food from the back to prevent cross contamination issues.

Notes

Chipotle does not have a gluten free menu but instead has a list of gluten-containing ingredients to avoid. Cross-contamination is a concern, however, so let the person taking your order know that you are gluten free and if you need them to take the proper precautions. From their website: "If you avoid gluten, don't eat our flour tortillas. If you are highly sensitive to gluten and would like us to change our gloves, just let us know at the start of your order. You should be aware items containing corn, including corn tortillas (chips, soft corn, and crispy corn tortillas) and corn salsa, may have a small amount of gluten from potentially co-mingling with gluten-containing grains in the field."

We tried to here with my celiac cousin and they said they could change gloves and change the spoons but they didn't understand that changing the spoons didn't make the food safe because off cross contamination. The manager wasn't even willing to get safe food from the back.

The server was clueless. I had to ask twice for him to change his gloves. The rest of the staff were better.....

Burrito bowls ( no tortilla, just rice with plethora of choices for toppings) are an awesome safe bet for celiacs. My celiac son loves them.

Really good food. Check online for chain-wide gluten-free choices including hard shell corn tortillas.

My first few visits were very celiac friendly. I even felt safe ordering via the app until they got my order completely wrong. After that, I tried to go in to order food. Multiple times I have walked in and observed employees placing spoons on flour tortillas and tortillas spilling over into the rice and meat. I’ve walked out. Called Manager and discussed why that is not safe. Was told, oh, we aren’t supposed to do that. I know, but it’s happening. Disappointing but I won’t be risking it.

Do not eat at this location. We have been instructed to place our online order with the name Gluten Allergy for each meal. This has mostly worked very well for us. I ordered crispy tacos with the name Gluten Allergy and was given soft wheat tacos which one of my celiac children nearly ate. Go down to the one closer to Tanque Verde on Grant. It’s super clean and we’ve never had an issue here.

Staff was so great about immediately changing out the spoons, washing their hand, and putting on fresh gloves before making my food. Such a good experience!

I have Celiac and I am thankful this location knows what to do to keep me safe. I’ve been there several times but the last time they were swamped and I hated to tell them, but I did. They changed gloves, utensils, and got new items from the back and kept smiling the whole time!

After trying to communicate what I needed for several minutes and watching them touch tortillas after washing their hands I gave up and left. Usually chipotle does well but the people barely spoke English and had no idea.

Very nice! I just ask the worker to wash their hands, put on new gloves, and have them use different spoons as well for cross contamination. Everyone is very nice about it and most-all of the time they are knowledgeable about Celiac.

They are clueless on celiac. You have to patiently walk them through it. I love chipotle but they are in some serious need of training at this location. Best to eat here when they are not busy.

Very happy with this chipotle. We headed here after having a terrible experience at Nao Japanese Grill (don’t go there if you’re a celiac), and I was very relieved to be somewhere safe. My husband told the woman dishing up food I had a gluten allergy (easier as all chipotles typically are aware), and she asked what my specific allergy was, so we said celiac. She washed hands, changes gloves, and switched all of the spoons without me asking (I usually have to ask them to do that!). I didn’t even have to ask for fresh lettuce, they knew that it was needed due to cross contamination. I did not have a reaction after- would feel more than comfortable eating here again.

I explained to multiple employees that I had a severe gluten allergy and they refused to change things out, rudely telling me “it’s fine, it’s okay,” clearly not understanding that I can’t just “skip” some precautions. I ended up leaving and going to another restaurant. I would have given zero stars if possible, don’t go here if you have a true allergy, disrespectful.

Resorted to saying "wheat allergy" and they understood immediately. Changed gloves, used a paper towel on the handles, and got us fresh ingredient where they would normally grab handfuls (cheese, lettuce). Very accommodating every time.

For the chain in general; and Chipotle soft tacos are not gf any longer. And you would have to ask for a glove change. Other than that still a good option.

Burrito bowls are safe. I wouldn’t risk anything with a tortilla since they heat them on the same plate with flour tortillas. I haven’t had a problem with their chicken/steak in a burrito bowl. I haven’t had a problem with their chips either. Nice quick option for gluten free.

Not gf, too much cross contamination. The spoons they use touch other orders that are getting tortillas. They need separate prep with ingredients to be gf. Cant eat here without being sick unfortunately

Knowledgeable & extremely accommodating staff. Cleaned surfaces, changed gloves & got fresh bins of toppings from the back to avoid cc. Chips also gf at Chipotle, unlike some other named chain spots that add flour. Highly recommend this location!

I just said the word gluten allergy and the guy working immediately moved a coworker over to continue taking orders while he took off his gloves, scrubbed his hands and put new gloves on to make our child's build your own. We do bring our own cheese to cut down on possible cross contamination but it was so awesome to not be questioned or made to feel like we were slowing things down, especially for how busy they were. We always feel great going to chipotle!!

If you have a gluten intolerance and not an allergy you may be okay eating here. I am severely allergic to gluten and cannot eat at Chipotle. I get sick, even ordering a plain bowl! Not sure what items trigger my allergy.

Great service. Only the tortillas have gluten. Corn salsa and chips came with a warning from the growers, so we skipped them. Employee gladly washed his hands and put on new gloves when we told him about wheat intolerance.

I went in at a not so busy time and asked if they could change gloves and do a gf bowl. She said I couldn’t have a bowl with rice because rice comes from wheat and has gluten. I didn’t feel safe and left.

The employee today did not understand about cross-contamination. She changed her gloves, but she was moving so fast, she had put cheese and lettuce from the tubs on the line in our bowls and had her gloves off standing at the cash register before I even knew what happened. But we did a sorry job advocating for ourselves, we’re new to this, newly diagnosed only a couple of weeks, we should have made her go back and make us new bowls after explaining to her about cross-contamination in the tubs of cheese and lettuce on the line, new gloves did nothing to protect us from that. About 20 minutes later, we both had a stomachache.

Chipotle in Mooresville does a great job with Celiac. I believe the management there is on top of it and has really trained their staff. Not only do they change their gloves, but they understand all about cross-contamination, and will get new containers of cheese and lettuce because the ones on the line have been cross contaminated by those handling the wheat tortillas.

When I asked them to change their gloves they also brought out new tubs of cheese and lettuce since they touch those with their gloves and the whole line passed down and worked together to make sure my food wasn’t cross contaminated!
