Celiac friendly and so delicious! I always remind the staff to change gloves. Almost the whole restaurant is gluten free except for the croutons, wontons, pita chips, panko fried chicken, falafel, and most desserts. Separate serving utensils for each ingredient except lettuce. All dressings GF. I’ve always ordered the kale caesar with grilled chicken and subbed in tomatoes for croutons. Very reasonably priced!
I’m Celiac & very sensitive to CC. Chop’t is hit or miss for me…I never order delivery so I can oversee them making my order (one time there was a rogue crouton in my salad). Some of the gluten toppings are next to GF (ie breaded chicken next to chicken) and staff can get messy with the crumbs. They also drizzle sauces directly onto meals, so the nozzle touches breaded chicken etc. Food is tasty, I just wish it wasn’t so dangerous for me!
Our family loves Chopt. This is a counter service establishment that offers bowls, salad, and wraps. They don’t have a GF menu; however, most items are GF and the wraps which are not GF are made at a separate counter. Prices are around $12 to $15 and you get a variety of fresh ingredients and dishes made the way that you want them. I recommend that you visit Chopt to eat fresh food so tasty that you will forget that you are eating GF!
Menu is not marked as GF but I asked about safety precautions. The manager was fantastic about showing me a flip chart of gf items, which can be downloaded. She told me they have a prep area for allergen sensitivity and clean it before prep and take allergies seriously. All the dressings are gf. There is the chance of cross contact but I had a very good experience without a reaction.
I found this place from fmgf. I had a Cobb salad. Replaced the blue cheese crumbles and egg for corn. I told them of my ‘gluten allergy’ and requested that they use fresh ingredients from the back and change gloves since I saw them dip their gloves in the crunchy toppings and then grab lettuce with the same gloves to make the next salad. The worker agreed to make it from the back and seemed to understand cc. But I ate a few bites when I got to the house I’m staying and within 15mins had symptoms, more than just cc symptoms. I would say this place is not celiac safe.
I like this Chopt. They have a lot of GF options. It’s a salads and bowl place, counter service. You pick your greens (lettuce, spinach, kale, etc), rice or quinoa, meat, and toppings. They have great sauce. This is one of my usual spots. I highly recommend it. Prices are very reasonable.
Chopt was great! I asked for them to change gloves, and they immediately did! I asked for no goat cheese on my salad and they asked me what to replace the goat cheese with, they will sub for ingredients at no charge. I loved the salad. They mix it up for you with what looked like clean bowl and spatula. I did not get glutened but I am sure they would change tools if asked. I did not ask about anything being gluten free but did let them know I had a gluten allergy at the beginning.
