When you call they say they can make anything gluten free, but when you get there all they can do is give you gluten free soy sauce. Very misleading. They could make lots of gf sauces with the gf soy sauce but they won't.

This place is always solid. The very tasty Chinese Chicken Salad is GF if you don't add the wontons (which are served on the side). Their Pad Thai is also excellent, and you can ask for any dish with GF soy sauce.

Reading the above review, I just called City Wok to inquire about ordering a beef dish gluten free. First of all the woman answering the phone didn't have a clue to what I was talking about. After attempting to explain multiple times what gluten is, she said they could only do gluten free chicken because they steam it (huh?). She suggested I eat edamame or soup. I told her I wanted beef and she said it wasn't possible because they make the sauce for all the dishes in the beginning of the week and for that they use regular soy sauce. Totally disappointed and hopefully I am wrong. I would rather not get sick.

I have to say this was a great find!! I loved Chinese food BC (before Celiacs) and other than PF Changs which is pricey, I never get to really enjoy it unless I make it at home.

I happened to be next door one day and popped in just to check and see if they did GF. Much to my pleasure, they cheerily said "sure, no problem", upon asking a few more questions (as we do), they told me they wash the pan and have GF Soy sauce they use to make the sauces!!!

Thrilled beyond belief I tried the Garlic Beef and then another time the Kung Pao, both made with GF soy sauce and they were both awesome. Not bland like most places when they say GF. I got it to go and they even had little GF Soy Sauce packets for me to take home. Couldn't have been happier.
