Several gluten free options, however, cross contact is a challenge. I went here in October 2023 for a work dinner. While the meal was enjoyable, the gluten in the air from the fresh baguettes being sliced near our table was very problematic for me. Needed to take a breather outside, and felt pretty poorly after dining here. The service was absolute top notch though. If I only had a gluten allergy, I'd go back.
If you want a little more of an fancier spot, this is a must visit. We got the fish and chips which included small pieces of fish and shrimp and more fries than I could attempt to finish! Dedicated fryer. Thr seafood is breaded with tapioca flour and is crunchy and delicious. The sherry aoli is a perfect dip in addition to the tartar sauce. 100% would go back! (I add non gf food.as well just in case you have non gf travelers with you)
When we made our (online) reservation we noted that two diners are celiac. When we arrived and checked in, this was in their system and our waiter was notified before we have even sat down! He assured us that we would be safe and that the GF meals were prepared in a section of the kitchen that had no gluten in it - including the fryer. The GF options were clearly marked on the menu and our waiter checked each item that we ordered to ensure that we were ordiring GF choices.
The food was delicious - we shared some oysters to start and then I had the Branzino which was perfectly prepared and cooked. About one-third of the menu is GF and there were also a couple of GF dessert options. A nice wine list rounded out the meal.
Highly recommended.
I was thrilled to be able to have fish and chips gluten free. They have several options and seem knowledgeable about cross contamination. Since my friend and I ordered the same dish, they made them both gluten free and were delivered separately from others. The shrimps where not perfectly crispy, probably because they were not patted dry before frying them but they were still delicious
Beautiful restaurant in the lovely Distillery District. Had the steak frites for supper. It was delicious (next time I would ask for unseasoned frites, just a personal preference). Very knowledgeable waiter and accommodating kitchen. I am celiac and also dairy intolerant. Dairy items were subbed out with no additional fees. Definitely on my list to come back next time I'm in Toronto.
I went here for brunch. Server was very knowledgeable about allergies and what I could eat. Had the omelette and salad and it was great. Also offered GF bread. Gave a 4 star as a different server came out to serve our meals and gave me the wrong meal. When I challenged it they shrugged and walked away.
