I’ve been here three times now and so far so good! They’re understanding of cross contamination and deal with my dairy intolerance really well. They even have gf pancakes if you can eat dairy! I had eggs and hash browns and bacon and yum! This has become a safe place to eat outside the park.
They have a separate gluten free menu upon request. The gluten free pano ales were huge and so fluffy! The staff was friendly and educated
Exactly as advertised. GF menu is just narrowed down items from the regular menu. GF pancakes are delicious (I eat them plain) + portions are good as well as their coffee. Have had breakfast there four days in a row. No issues.
What a pleasant surprise. The GF pancakes were really good. Service was great. If your in the area ... it’s convenient to the convention center and Disney Land. 👍
Multiple severe allergies (gluten and nuts). We were able to get gluten free pancakes. They were pretty good. Tested the pancakes using a Nima sensor because we were nervous about cross contamination and they were safe. Our daughter ate (severe gluten allergy) and did not have any reactions. Gave a 4 star because the food was safe, but not that tasty.
Had a late night meal here so don't know what it would be like during busy hours but I got a Greek chicken salad and ordered the grilled chicken with veggies meal for my son also gluten free so I could try some. It come with rice that has gluten which my waiter immediately told me about. (it was also noted on the gluten free menu). We got the rice on the side for my son. The food was better than expected for a diner and I didn't get sick.
Very disappointing. They are a bakery and don't offer any gf pastries or baked goods.
good selection of gluten free breakfast including two types of pancakes, hash browns, omelette, etc. taste was quite good. menu was pre-prepared so servers very knowledgeable. free validated parking lot adjacent.
The GF pancakes are to die for good!!! Definitely coming back here!
omg the best GF pancakes i was not expecti g them to taste so good. seriously the best
Amazing gluten free pancakes so worth just going and eating a huge stack
Best GF pancakes I've ever had.
Amazing!! Our waitress was exceptional and even brought me a sample of the gluten free pancakes to try. Delicious food, excellent service!! Ask for Brenda, she's wonderful!
limited menu. no baked items pancakes only and I would question their cross contamination. we left.
Everyone here is amazing! I'm SOOOO ALLERGIC & celiac and Late at night John has served me several times and I never got sick! Their GF MENU is huge and I'm eating tonight with Donna & manager Carlos came over and specifically had a talk with the kitchen about cross-contamination! These guys rock! Luv love luv it!
Nice little restaurant. Had gluten free pancakes and hot tea. Mmmm
Gluten free menu had pancakes and hash browns besides having the regular omelette items.
I’ve been to other Coco locations such as the ones in Cali and Arizona but this one does not have any GF options. This location does not offer GF pancakes.
This place is inside Edgewater casino.
— No gluten-free information on the menu
They didn’t have any of the gluten free pancakes. The waitress seemed mind boggled when I explained that I could not have regular pancakes instead, so I didn’t feel safe ordering anything else. Don’t waste your time.
We liked the GF pancakes, but there wasn’t much else on the breakfast menu. Still, something is better than nothing. It would be easy to add GF toast to go with eggs on the menu, but that’s just a suggestion.
My 6-year old has Celiac and a severe tree-nut allergy. The staff was knowledgeable and immediately informed me they don’t have a separate grill area, but they could clean it. My daughter almost immediately has a reaction and was fine. She had the gluten-free pancakes and loved them. She was so happy!
My wife is celiac, so this is our go to ,when we eat out for breakfast. She has never had any issues with cross contamination. The GF pancakes are for real. Although I’m not celiac I prefer them over the original pancakes. They are light, full, and absorb the syrup more evenly. She usually gets the California omelette, not browned, with hash browns. Happy wife, happy life.
At first, I felt really great about coming here! There was a gluten free menu advertised and on the website, and the receptionist we talked to told us about how Coco’s managed her allergy (which is always a good sign). But then they couldn’t find the printed gluten free menu, which was not great. Then, after I ordered, I heard a lot of confusion back in the kitchen with our server strongly telling the cooks to make gluten free pancakes. I really didn’t feel comfortable eating any of the food after hearing that. My family tried some of my food after it came out and seemed pretty sure that it wasn’t gluten free (not that they can tell, but who knows?). I think the kitchen staff might have been new (because other orders were being messed up as well), but I just didn’t feel confident eating there. Although I’m sure this place is awesome for those without an allergy, I would personally avoid Coco’s.
Attempted 2 go last night for pancakes. Walked in and waited and the waitress kept looking over never came to show to seat or so could ask. So I grabbed menu looked through & saw no gluten free pancakes advertised. Waitress came to front then walked away again to pour coffee. I waited longer & she was yelling back to kitchen. Looked around only 2 tables seated and eating so not busy.. I waited longer & then gave up walked out. No clue if have gluten free cakes or not. Was there Year half ago had salad in evening & they were mopping floor right up to our table. Bucket so strong of ammonia taste it with food & made husband & I sick plus again waitress didn’t come back check on us. Save trouble go elsewhere
They have a gluten free menu. The gluten free pancakes were delicious. They were made in a gf skillet, with a gf spatula. The server was knowledgeable and got us low sugar syrup because the regular had barley in it!
Food was delicious and staff knowledgeable and courteous. GF pancakes were great. Menu had usual disclaimer of 'cannot guarantee no cross contamination' and since my daughters with celiac don't have symptoms hard to know if they get glutened.
When ordering I showed the server that I wanted GF banana & pecan pancake with caramel drizzled on it with eggs over easy and sausage by pointing it on the menu then I pointed my finger showing him that it has to be GF. He nodded.
My husband ordered the same thing but his weren't GF and he had omelette and bacon.
When our food arrived the server gave me my husband's plate but my husband told him that it was my plate so he gave it to me. When I got my plate and I had a funny feeling that my plate was not GF so I had to ask the server if my plate was GF he was confused. I told him that I had already told him I wanted GF meal and told him that he will need to get me a new plate with GF order and also that he need to make sure that my eggs and sausage are also new because of cross contamination. He nodded apologetically, took my plate and told the cook what happened. The cook tried to put my eggs and sausage on a new plate and I saw the server correcting him and gesturing the cross contamination to him. The cook was not happy. Few minutes later, my GF plate arrived and I had to ask the server if my eggs and sausages were new he said, "Yes. I told the cook that the pancakes had touched your eggs and sausage and you would still get sick so he made you GF pancake and cooked you new eggs and sausages."
I don't think the eggs and sausages were new tho because I feel sick now. :-/ I feel like the cooker didn't take the server and I seriously.
the food was good, but double check your order! I got all the way home--across the city--with my two young children, only to find they'd shorted me an entire meal. yes, I should've checked the order, but they have me the correct amount of drinks and the correct number of takeout containers, so I thought it was right...turns out they split one order into two containers and never even put in the order for the second kids meal. I usually wouldn't leave a bad review for that, because the food WAS good, but when I called they didn't even try to help; she just kept telling me "if you come back, we'll get that for you" which I could not do, since by the time I got home, it was past my children's bed time already... Anyway, check your food before you leave!
Today i was eating gluten free pancakes with bananas, bacon and overall eggs. They were very good and i recommend this place all celiac :) Service was exellent too. Thanks Coco's!
pancakes are pretty good.
Been here many times they have a page on there menu that is gluten free with pancakes and eggs, sausage, bacon, and hash browns. They will even make smiley face pancakes for the kids. They also have lunch and dinner. We have never felt contaminated when leaving.
We went to the Cocos in Culver City but didn't end up eating there because they didn't have a gluten free menu and the staff didn't seem to really even know what gluten was. When we sat down the waiter said the only gluten free item on the entire menu was the gluten free pancakes (which were not listed on the menu, just verbalized by the waiter). We didn't feel safe eating there so we left.
They have a good sized GF breakfast menu, and best of all was the pancakes! They tasted so good I was worried they weren't GF at first. The waiter brought them out wearing plastic gloves and gave me my own bottle of syrup, so it seemed like they were making an effort to keep mine separate. So nice to have a place to go for breakfast.
Yummy gluten free pancakes on the gluten free menu. Menu has some lunch options too. They even let me get the special with gluten free pancakes for just ,50 more. Military discount too! No pure maple syrup though and coffee wasn't that great.
