I am exhausted by places that say they are gluten free, but everything is cross contaminated and all the temporary workers are not educated about food allergies. I called ahead as I always do and they said they had food available. Drove out of my way and dealt with an overcrowded parking situation, only to get in there and deal with incompetence. Unfortunately, this restaurant was the straw that broke the camel's back in a city that seems to be clueless or empathetic about celiacs and food allergies. It is a real shame, seems to be such a common issue.
I have been to Coma multiple times and they are very accommodating and knowledgeable. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with GF bread and they offered to make it in a separate pan on the stove when I asked about cross-contamination in the kitchen. I didn’t experience any gluten side-effects afterwards and appreciated how they took me seriously. They also had a couple of GF treats in their bakery section. In terms of coffee. I’ve had their lavender cardamom and vanilla latte with oat milk and was completely fine too! Their oat milk is GF, yay!
