My first time here. I always like discovering new options. There is technically a variety of options here but not as tasty as I was expecting. Prices are right. When I asked if something was gluten free, I was told « it should be » gluten which did not give me great confidence.
I've been eating at Core Life for years and have always loved it. That being said, it's becoming harder to safely eat here as they keep incorporating more and more gluten items to their menu. They have also removed their gluten free Mac and cheese from the menu and replaced it with regular gluten containing Mac and cheese! It's a delicious place to eat but proceed with caution for cross-contimation and subtle and not well advertised changes to the menu.
I love this place even though it's no longer a dedicated gluten free space. I've never gotten sick and there are SO many safe options. Everything is labeled and staff is knowledgable. Not sure why so many rated this one low. Like you can't have tacos but you can have all of the many salads, gf mac and cheese, broth bowls, and warm bowls. I like the Korean bbq bowl and the bbq southwest salad the best.
Unfortunately, they now serve flour tortillas. Not safe! They say most items are GF and will change gloves but no way to avoid all the cross contact. I watched them touch the utensils to the tortillas as they go down the line and opted to leave. Please beware if you have celiac disease or are very sensitive.
I had been here many times before when almost everything was gluten free and there was only the salad, soup, and bowl options with no issue! Went today and noticed there was a new wrap option. I told the employee that I had a gluten allergy, and she said ok, but didn’t take any precautions and I foolishly thought it was cool because of past experiences. I got a salad, but when I got to the end I asked if the wraps were gluten free. Another employee told me no. So, I would not say that this place is super safe for celiacs any more. They grab a gluten wrap, and then with the same gloves and hands reach into the big lettuce piles to make salads. Even if they change gloves to make your dish, there’s still cross contact in all that lettuce. Silly of my not to have asked more questions, but still pretty disappointed.
Ugh…I wish I didn’t have to write this review as I loved CoreLife, however, I got very sick from here on Mother’s Day. I’ve eaten here before and haven’t had a reaction, which my husband and I think was because we were the first people there when they opened for the day those previous times. This particular time we went for dinner. I really wish that they would just get rid of the flour tortillas, until they do, we won’t be eating there.
Same here. Ever since they started serving wraps and grabbing lettuce with contaminated gloves etc I had horrible reactions following eating at core. Wonder if they are cooking anything together or contaminated on same grill etc. Ugh! Love core for how safe it was. Does anyone know if the tortilla strips are gf?
This is a great quick service spot. The allergen chart on their website lists bread as gluten and the tuna bowls as cc, with everything else being gf. I had the southwest grilled chicken and purple rice bowl (minus tortilla strips because he was unsure if they were put in a shared fryer) and tried some of the ranch flank steak bowl. I thought they were both delicious and my gluten eating husband said he would go back.
The entire menu offering is gluten free with the exception of the closed bread box at the register. They have a kids gluten free plate with veggies, chicken and rice, GF chicken noodle (rice noodle) soup and kid’s spaghetti (rice noodles) with chicken. My celiac son is a healthy eater and loves all the choices. I really enjoy the salad, soup, broth, bowls too!
Delicious! All dishes are gluten free. The only gluten in the whole store is a slice of bread that is offered at the very end of the assembly line, after your food is closed up/plated. Excellent!
First time at CoreLife and very happy with our experience. We even bought a side of the gluten free macaroni and cheese, to share, just to bc we could, lol. It was very yummy! Almost everything is gluten free and I felt safe eating here and did not get sick. I look forward to going back. I just wish there was one closer to home!
