Great little place! My daughter has Celiac Disease and is very sensitive. She had the French toast and loved it. They were very knowledgeable. If any non-Celiacs are in your group, my husband said the home fries (non-GF) were the best he’s ever had.

I ordered the ‘Cheeky Emma’ on gluten free bread and it was excellent. It tasted just like regular bread! I was also able to get the breakfast potatoes which are my favorite potatoes in Newport. It’s so nice to be able to get a breakfast side like that without worrying about cross contamination.

Ordered one of the breakfast specials and it was full of flavor. Was able to get gf bread and vegan cheese. However, I could not have the home fries; had to sub those for berries. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.
Best breakfast experience in Newport!
Gluten-free options are accommodations were immediately apparent on arrival. However, we asked our waitress about GF options and we were assured that they can accommodate GF safely. Our waitress had Celiac herself and vouched for safety in the kitchen procedures.
We had a delicious meal and a stress-free experience.

I’m not celiac but I do avoid gluten due to an autoimmune disease. The staff was very knowledgeable. I ordered an omelet with GF toast and potatoes (the potatoes are cooked in a shared fryer). The omelet was delicious. The toast wasn’t very good so after a bite or two I opted not to finish it. Their latte’s were fantastic!

I came here with a friend for breakfast based largely on the reviews on here. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. I said I had to eat gluten free, and she pointed out that the home fries are not safe for celiacs as they are cooked in a shared fryer. I had an omelette, which normally is served with home fries and toast, but just had gluten free toast with it. The omelette was delicious and the toast was pretty good too.

Tried this place based on reviews. They were very busy on a Monday morning so I was a bit hesitant. I always ask before we get seated if they can accommodate for gluten allergies. I was told they can so I figured I’d give them a try. The menu said they had gf bread and wraps so I ordered a gf wrap with scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, and avocado which came with home fries. I let our waitress know I had gluten allergies and she nodded her head and took our orders w/o writing anything down. That always makes me nervous. Food came out and was huge and delicious but unfortunately did not turn out to be safe. I definitely had reaction after eating here. My guess is either the allergy information wasn’t relayed to kitchen or precautions are not taken to avoid cc. I would not recommend for celiac’s.

Great vibe! I ordered the bacon, egg and Swiss sandwich on GF bread. The server let me know that the bacon was fried in a common fryer so as to avoid cross contamination. Food came out fast and piping hot and was delicious. Very friendly waitstaff. Large menu with lots of options.

This is a great spot if you are GF. Waitress was very knowledgeable. Called out cross contamination with breakfast potato’s. I got breakfast tacos and avocado toast with gf bread. Felt very safe.

I’m honestly shocked this place has such good reviews especially for those with Celiac. While they list a lot of gf options (bread, wraps, etc) they do not use a dedicated gf toaster, do not have separate prep station, and said they only precautions they could take would be to mark my allergy on the ticket. I ended up eating non toasted bread and coffee as that was all that was safe. The staff also couldn’t answer many questions and didn’t seem to get the difference between gf and celiac. If your only sensitive or gf by choice this place is probably fine but Celiacs I’d stay away.

We enjoyed breakfast very much. Our server was aware of celiac as family members have it.
I am the only celiac in our group and I chose an omelet with pesto, cheese, and grilled tomatoes on top. It was so delicious!! It was served with gluten-free toast and I did opt for the potatoes.
Server couldn’t guarantee that potatoes wouldn’t get contaminated because they do flash fry them before serving and their fryer is not dedicated to gluten-free.
I did end up having a mild issue but it was because I chose to take a chance on the potatoes.
We will definitely be back!!!

Non-reactive Celiac -- extremely good at telling me what was safe, and the waiter checked items with the chef, but I cannot vouch for their actual safety. Very good food - my whole group thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

Excellent. Great atmosphere and delicious food. Very accommodating and celiac friendly. The best breakfast I've had at a restaurant in years. We both had gluten free bread.

They were amazing! The staff was very knowledgeable. They recommended not to have the home fries as they do NOT have a designated GF fryer. They also thicken some is of their sauces with flour. They offered to make up fresh French toast batter if I wanted the French toast. I ended up having eggs with toast and fruit on the side and it was delicious. Highly recommend!!!

The food was outstanding! I had the California Benny on gluten free bread and I can safely say it was the best Benny I’ve ever eaten. My whole family enjoyed their meal.

Lots of vegetarian options. Wraps and GF bread. Yummy per my Celiac daughters. They have no symptoms so can't tell if they get glutened

Great breakfast burrito with a wrap that didn't fall apart! Wonderful staff and delicious breakfast.
I asked if they could do the French toast gluten free but they double checked and warned me it wasn't celiac friendly! Definitely appreciate them being so knowledgeable. They can do gluten free wraps and quesadillas as well as gluten free bread. I got the avocado toast which was amazing!! Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and cooperative!! Highly recommend!

Gf quesadillas were horrible. Tasteless and the chicken wasn't even seasoned.
The Corner Cafe on Broadway in Newport is phenomenal! They even made me gluten free French toast! My boyfriend even said it tasted just like his (non gf) French toast! All of their food was delicious. I definitely recommend it!

Our family visited the Corner Cafe for a late breakfast. After telling our waitress two of us has celiac, a very nice waitress came over to our table. She told us they take food allergies very seriously. After initially being told their home fries were safe, she said they are actually made in a fryer where breaded foods are also cooked. When our food came, I noticed it had the home fries in it. Oops! Another meal was brought out. I ate some of the grilled tomatoes that was served with our breakfast burrito. My son did not. I became very sick with a couple of hours. My son was okay. I would not trust them to eat there again.

Came here for breakfast and told the waitress 3 times that I had a gluten allergy. My meal arrived with wheat toast. Not Celiac friendly and I unfortunately got sick after.
Excellent inexpensive dinner. Great atmosphere and knew all about celiac. Would highly recommend for dates and families alike.

Went there on busy Memorial Day weekend and had to wait to get in - and it was very much worth the wait! They were very knowledgeable about gf, the food was great, service was great, many options were available. I'll definitely go there again when I'm in the area.
