Every time I go there they ask if my order is due to preference or allergy and take extra precaution.
It is all very tasty and mostly what is in their main menu.

they're very respectful of gluten free and celiac people, as long as you make it clear you'd like it gluten free. they gave me no trouble at all and I've never had any bad reactions to their food
Costa Vida is awesome!!! Seems like the entire restaurant is focused around Gluten Free. I eat here at least once a week. I’ve never been sick. Staff is knowledgeable about gluten. They are helpful & friendly. Best place for Celiacs.
Yes
From their allergen list: We have worked diligently to remove wheat gluten from all our sauces, dressings, and proteins. Natural glutens remain only in our flour and wheat tortillas and in two desserts--tres leches and key lime pie. This means that we offer 'oceans of gluten-free options' in our menu. All of these items are gluten-free: all enchiladas, all tacos, all salads (without the flour or wheat tortilla), all nachos, and our chicken tortilla so up...which uses corn strips.
They use the same tortilla press for their corn and wheat tortillas. No way that doesn’t have cross contamination and changing spoons in the same prep stuff that is already cross contimsted doesn’t work.
No
My daughter and I have never gotten sick eating here. They are really good about cross-contamination (although they’ll only say gluten-friendly) and the only thing on the menu that’s got gluten is the flour tortillas and a couple of the desserts. They will make any of the menu items out of the corn tortillas or omit tortillas altogether for salads. The staff is super helpful and considerate.
I asked about gluten free and found out that all of their sauces and meats and beans are gluten free. They make everything on flour tortillas that are being made right there on a grill. They were able to make my enchiladas on corn tortillas. The person making them changed gloves and washed his hands and put a clean piece of foil on the grill to heat the corn tortillas. My food was delicious and I did not get sick.

The lady who took my order immediately took her gloves off, washed her hands for a long time, and put on a fresh pair of gloves when I told her I was celiac. They grilled my tacos on a fresh piece of tin foil on the grill. They also bagged my stuff separately from everyone else's. No huffing or signing or eye rolling! She was very happy to do it! The best service I have received in awhile!

Manager is very helpful when making your meal. He did a fantastic job of letting us know safe choices for us. Almost everything except the flour, wheat tortillas and a few desserts, is gluten free. My son is also dairy free and they accommodate his custom nacho order without hesitation. My son loves their food and so do I. Make sure you voice your allergy so they will change their gloves.***update*** they no longer use tongs with the lettuce or cheese meaning there’s major cross contamination. Witnessed on nearly every occasion since the manager made our meals. I just skip the lettuce and cheese unless it’s a new container.

Such good food and a reasonable price! I have celiac, and I’ve been here a ton and never gotten sick. Just ask them to change their gloves and ask for corn tortillas
