Server washed her hands and changed gloves. We ordered so simply the guy at the check out helped us out a ton! Highly recommend!

I was a little nervous to eat here but it worked out great. They all washed hands and changed out gloves fir us and one person handled the GF order. They knew about cross contamination so there is obviously some decent staff training on allergies. My celiac kiddo got the chicken Baja bowl and did not get sick.

From their allergen list: We have worked diligently to remove wheat gluten from all our sauces, dressings, and proteins. Natural glutens remain only in our flour and wheat tortillas and in two desserts--tres leches and key lime pie. This means that we offer "oceans of gluten-free options" in our menu. All of these items are gluten-free: all enchiladas, all tacos, all salads (without the flour or wheat tortilla), all nachos, and our chicken tortilla so up...which uses corn strips.
Great with gluten free items! Staff was very knowledgeable & changed gloves. Food was great!
Very careful to ensure no cross contamination between customers. Good, fresh food on the road.
The staff member will wash hands/change gloves and stay with your order from start to finish. They are very friendly and helpful.

I’ve never had an issue here, I love getting chicken/steak salads at restaurants like these and staff is aware of what gluten is.

First time ordering from this Costa Vida. Ordered a Baja Bowl. It was a pick up order which I understand is a risk to begin with. I made clear in my online order that I had celiac disease and also put “severe gluten allergy” just so the people who have no idea what Celiac is might get a better idea on how to handle things. When I picked it up I asked again if they understood and if safe practices were followed with my “allergy”. They said yes but looked confused. Unfortunately I did get sick at this location. Still paying for it 2 days later. Im pregnant and was absolutely starving after a 12 hour shift so unfortunately I took the risk. Wish I hadn’t! I’m guessing with a ton of communication and explaining things, they could potentially be a safe place to eat. However, they proved not to be if you mention it and even double check.

Said celiac and she changed her gloves immediately. Always a good sign. Got a bowl. The chips are safe. Decent meal on the road. Small town that is hard to find safe food in. Happy with our stop.

Good food but a cross contamination nightmare. Unless you can convince the employee making your food to get new stuff from the back (which never happens in my experience), it’s all going to be contaminated. Good for gluten sensitivities if the cross contamination doesn’t bother you, but avoid it if you have celiac.
