Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and the food was good.
Country Gourmet is a great breakfast, lunch and brunch place that has a fair number of GF options. I usually get omelettes or salads, and they have some GF enchiladas as well. They also have really awesome GF Brownies, lemon bars, almond and zucchini breads.
We found this restaurant on the FindMe GF app. while in the area for an event. So glad for the recommendations! Great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Further, I could not have been more pleased with their gluten free (and vegan and vegetarian options)! Their menu was very clearly, well labeled. Had the most incredible GF zucchini bread (seasonal GF bread option) and their seasoned potato & veggie bowl. Highly recommend!!
They don't have GF Hamburger buns, but they do have GF cornbread. If you ask for it they'll do your burger on the cornbread for a gf burger. In the summer months they sometimes have a bbq burger on special, and the bbq sauce is phenomenal on the cornbread!
I don't know how people are rating this place as gf, amazing gf, gf mecca, etc.
They literally had gf zucchini bread (with walnuts), when I went this am. No basic gf bread to go with an egg breakfast.
Very disappointed that everyone raves about gf. Guess what, eggs, potatoes, bacon, fruit all naturally gf. That does not warrant gf menu 🤯
The owner might be the nicest woman in the entire world. They also have homemade gluten free cornbread (ok) and a daily homemade gluten free bread (incredible). I came two days in a row and I was very pleased both times with the quality and quantity of the options and the level of service.
This place is great!! Yummy food, clearly marked menus with so many items that can be made GF. Staff is great and accommodating and front of counter staff were knowledgeable. Have eaten here multiple times and have always felt super safe. Their GF banana bread (sometimes it’s almond bread or zucchini bread) is to die for! One place that I don’t feel left out or like I’m not getting the good stuff because of my celiac. We live over 20 minutes away and I always make a point to come here. The fact that it’s family owned just puts it over the top! Stop in - you won’t be sorry!
They have gluten free breakfast options and always have a seasonal GF dessert bread; pumpkin, lemon or zucchini. Pretty good, staff is friendly, outdoor patio seating.
Menu was well-labeled as to gluten free or "can be made gluten free". There were a good number of options, too! I was really excited when I saw they also had gluten free baked goods! I got a gf peanut butter cookie to go that was so good!
We are regulars! They have several gluten free options, including most specials, and all are very tasty! They don’t have gf sandwich bread but do have some gluten free baked goods. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about ingredients.
Great selection of GF items with knowledgeable friendly staff. Order at the counter and the food is brought to you. Can make gf Benedict but also have gf toast, cookies, omelettes, scrambled, and potatoes. Came in on a busy Saturday morning and it was still super fast. Felt great after.
Many GF options but not bread for sandwiches. Cafeteria style.
Country Gourmet lists all GF options on the menu and the staff there is very aware and has additional information. I am not Celiac but I am gluten intolerant and I have never felt contaminated from eating there. I do wish they would offer GF bread and buns, it would be nice to have a burger or sandwich. I always enjoy the salads, GF soups and breakfast items and their brownies are fantastic!
You order in the front and they bring the food to your table. Have plenty of GF options . Such as pancakes, granola, omelettes , and eggs Benedict. Large portions. The chi latte was yummy. Wasn’t too fond of the potatoes. Lot of paprika and onions. Bacon was very thin and too crispy. The zucchini bread was the best ! Delicious, soft and has walnuts. My husband got the blueberry pancakes. They were 2 large pancakes. He said it was good.
I have been here 5 or 6 times since diagnosis. I tell them I am GF and haven’t gotten sick. Wonderful GF sides and even a few desserts that are made in-house, like corn bread, almond bread, lemon bread and pumpkin bread. Desserts like cookies and brownies. Safe and delish!
Gluten free eggs Benedict on their homemade gluten free cornbread. Yes, they have other lovely looking options, but I almost always just get the Benedict cause ... yeah.
I have worked at The Country Gourmet for nearly 4 years. I love the food here. The employee discount comes in handy when you're gluten free and working at one of the best gluten free restaurants in the area. Fun fact: One of the owners of Country Gourmet is Gluten free too! If you have an allergy or sensitivity (not just for gluten) we always triple check that what we serve you won't trigger an negative reaction. Don't be afraid to ask about ingredients because we always have the ingredient book on hand to check.
There is a GF menu and several items are available. Staff was very knowledgeable about Celiac and pulled out the recipe book to verify the soup was GF. Very good food. They had GF cobbler on the daily dessert board but had sold out by 1pm on a Sunday! A little older crowd for a Sunday afternoon but family friendly and adult friendly serving beer and wine. I issues with Gluten allergy. Would recommend.
They have a gluten free menu and also some starred specials that are sometimes GF as well. A little too greasy for my taste but sometimes that’s what fits the bill! I’m not going to dock them a star for that. IMO if they are legit trying to be contaminate free they are great!
many gluten-free options and the person who took my order understood my concerns.
Awesomely delicious gluten free options (look for the orange menu and the orange stars on the specials board and dessert list), all at reasonable prices for the quality. One of the owners is celiac and makes sure there are plenty of safe options.
(Do tell the cashier you need a dish gluten-free and they will take all the necessary precautions.)
Tasty with lots of options. Don't forget to tell them you have an "allergy" or they won't be careful of cross-contaminant!
There are definitely options for gluten-free with a whole separate menu. . But not so friendly for those who also need to eat dairy-free as well. I ordered eggs with bacon (nitrates free!) but the potatoes are cooked with butter and are prepackaged with the butter so can't cook separately in a different oil. And the g-f cornbread has powdered milk in it. So I got a fruit side and sliced tomatoes. . Still was good.
Love this place - especially the specials, many which can be made gluten free, including desserts! Order and pay at counter makes it a great place for groups to meet up.
Nice atmosphere with a good selection of gluten free items for breakfast through dinner. Owner understands need for gluten free meals that makes it a good place to eat. Even has gluten free brownies for desert. Prices are very reasonable. I consider it a $ to $$ (not $$$)
I've always liked Country Gourmet, but now that I have to eat Gluten Free I LOVE it. Look for the orange menu and the starred items on the specials board (most dinner specials are gluten-free or can be made that way.)
One of the two owners is gluten-intolerant and it shows. The GF dishes aren't an afterthought, but are brilliantly executed and delicious. On my most recent trip, I was able to choose from a Crab tower, a playful "Surf & Turf" of Seafood w/ mushrooms, Lobster Risotto, Fettucini w/ spring vegetables, Peking Duck, Grilled Halibut, Roast Chicken, Grilled Steak, etc. etc. etc. My wife and I even shared a GF chocolate-macadamia tart or could have had the (always GF, always delicious) brownies.
If you need to avoid gluten, come try this place for dinner. You won't lack for delicious choices.
(However, your breakfast and lunch choices will be more limited. Still, this is also a breakfast favorite of mine.)
