The staff was very knowledgeable about cross contamination. Mine 12 year old loves the waffles. They have a separate waffle iron for it. We have visited several times and is becoming our favorite breakfast place. Food is delicious.

Although they say the have gluten free pancakes and waffles, they are cooked on the same grill as the regular pancakes and waffles, so there is the chance of cross contamination. I was disappointed, but ordered the eggs, bacon and potatoes. The food is delicious, just ask lots of questions when ordering.

The fact that they have gluten free bread that isn’t terrible is a feat within itself. That being said, the waitress didn’t seem to know much about the importance of not cross-contaminating because when I asked if the sandwiches would be grilled on the same grill as gluten-containing sandwiches, she said, and I quote, “depends.” I’m not hyper sensitive but I would still be careful if you are someone who is highly affected. Other than that, food was pretty good and served quickly.

Awesome breakfast, but beware, they do not do gluten free lunches. They share all work spaces with gluten-containing foods during lunch.

Delicious pancakes and waffles, and I’ve never been sick in the many times I’ve been! Only word of caution-some of the staff is less familiar with the gf sausage (it’s not the same as the regular stuff) so take a look at it closely if you get some, the shiny one is not gf, the bumpy one is.

I went to Courtyard Cafe today based off of the recommendation from The Find Me GF app. When I told the waiter my 7 yr old twins had Celiac, he promptly went to inform the chef. They were quick to tell me that although they take precautions with the the gluten free items, they were not Celiac Certified, which I appreciated their honesty very much. All of the staff went out of their way to ensure my twins gluten free pancakes were prepared carefully and when they brought the food out, they made sure their plates were brought out separate so they would not touch any other plate/food. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and we will absolutely be visiting often!

Awesome... I have severe allergies to many other things than gluten. not only did the server check with the cook, they changed the dish in order to accommodate my allergies and serve me what I wanted. not only do I recomend Courtyard Cafe, I'm more than willing to make the cross town drive.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I think this is a true hidden gem. One of the original gluten-free restaurants in San Antonio and they take it seriously. They have many gluten-free things on the menu and they are very cautious about cross-contamination. I have been here many times and it's my go to place anytime I want to make sure I can get good food that is GF and don't feel like having to try something new or worry how the food will effect me. Everything is fresh, I do not believe they have a walk-in or use a microwave, and very tasty! Prices are good and the staff really care.
