I had the sweet & spicy chicken sandwich for lunch and it was delicious. They have a dedicated fryer which is always a huge win. The bun held together really well and was surprisingly soft. Everything tasted delicious and I had no reaction.
As a note, I found the buns to be visually a bit deceiving. I ordered takeout and picked up the food. When I got in the car, I opened the bag and saw nothing was checked off on the allergy tag. I then opened the box and the bun looked too soft to be gluten free. I went back inside to confirm the order was made correctly and they kindly told me they were confident it was a gluten free bun and their gluten containing buns are shiny whereas the gluten free ones are matte. I wanted to make sure I included this as it may help someone avoid a second trip in!
Such a gem for GF eaters. I have celiac and had the BEST fried chicken sandwich with fries (!!!!), which is such a treat. Everything was absolutely delicious and they have so much more including wraps & pancakes. My non-GF partner loved it as well. The staff was also very friendly, an allergy sticker was placed on my tray, and the server reiterated that it was for a gluten allergy when giving me the food. I can’t wait to go back!
Delicious faster food option but fresher! They have a dedicated gluten free menu with a separate cook area and allergy labels for the takeout similar to Disney. The kids meal was fantastic for our littles, the gluten free pancakes are delicious and they devoured the chicken nuggets and very fresh fruit. Will absolutely come back.
Holy ****. Nothing i read on fmgf could have prepared me for the reality of this place. First off the separate printed gf menu has damn near everything the normal menu has, which is already 🤯. Second, they are so allegen informed its unreal and not just gluten. Third everyone inside was so friendly. Fourth and most importantly i got a spicy crispy (!!!) Chicken sandwich the likes of which i have never seen or tasted- spicy crispy chicken sandwiches even before i had allergies have never hit this good. I write this review from my post sandwich state of enlightenment. I will absolutely go here again.
The staff were incredibly confident and knowledgeable about preparing food for Celiac customers. My daughter was able to get a double chocolate cookie milkshake (yes, cookie- all gf!) and she was beyond excited and happy. They have an entire gluten free menu you can look at to make ordering super easy. Excellent customer service as well. Will definitely be back.
We had breakfast here twice this weekend. I had the “big commute” a gf wrap, which was big indeed! A bit of a gut bomb, and HUGE, but tasty. This morning I had the So Cal Delux. This was a crispy chicken sandwich with avocado-it was delicious-the crispy chicken was cooked perfectly! My husband got the non-GF basic egg and cheese sandwich and he said it was great 😀
It was a very good experience. I am a Celiac. I also have a peanut allergy and can’t eat oats even if certified gluten free. This was a great experience. They could basically make everything GF on the menu. The staff was friendly & knowledgeable. They accommodated very well for “all” of my allergies. “The Basic” breakfast sandwich & “Morning Routine” smoothie were delicious! Enjoyed this very much. It was a safe & delicious!!!
I didn't know this gem existed. The best place for gf chicken sandwich. Lots of other options as well!
Fantastic! Don’t let the little building fool you! Great great great service, food is phenomenal and most everything can be made gluten free. They use real fresh eggs and you can taste the difference 🐣
I ate here with a group of friends for a late brunch (around noon) and chose it based on the reviews here (thank you!).
I asked for a GF menu and the person at the register said they didn’t have one because they could make anything on the menu gluten free. I asked whether the GF and non-GF food was prepared in the same area and the register person didn’t know but asked someone else who did. They said they have separate preparation areas on opposite sides of the kitchen!
I got a surf side breakfast burrito with regular eggs (rather than egg whites only). I brought my dairy pills and did have the cheddar cheese in it. It was really yummy. I had herbal tea with it. Of note: most all of the menu items contained cheese. There were some that were dairy free, and I’m sure they’d happily leave cheese out, but if you’re looking for a ton of dairy free or vegan options, I’d look elsewhere. Maybe check out the online menu before you go.
My friends got a range of things: breakfast sandwiches, a smoothie bowl, pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries, and my GF sugar-free friend got a Mediterranean bowl (loaded salad with GF grains, feta, olives, and some added chicken). Some friends got: a matcha drink, chocolate shake with whipped cream, and a cold brew espresso drink. I think they all liked them.
My sugar-free (pre-diabetic) friend had asked the staff about whether the Bourbon steak tips had sugar in them and he (we think was the manager?) said that they had tons of brown sugar in them and if he had Diabetes he definitely wouldn’t eat them. She appreciated his openness and clarity, versus other places she’s been where they’ll try to downplay the amount of sugar in order to get you to eat it.
We ate outside on the patio at a table with an umbrella. Even though it only had four seats, it fit 5 people comfortably. Two could sit on a side. There’s an ice cream shop in the other half of the bldg and we contemplated ice cream (dairy free and no sugar added options were on the menu btw), but didn’t get any.
The seating inside wasn’t very plentiful, I think there were maybe two seats open when we arrived. If you come with a group, especially if it’s busier, I’d expect to eat outside.
The restaurant has no recycling (even when I asked at the register they said they didn’t have any). Adding recycling (for lids, cup sleeves, etc) and compost (for napkins, tea bags, and food scraps) are improvements I hope they consider making!
It does have two unisex single stall bathrooms, by the way, in case that’s helpful to know
FYI There’s a “Let’s Go Brandon” store on the other side of the road in case you happen to be going out to eat with someone and don’t want a political environment. :) There is also a (more discreet than the LGB store) adult store on the other side of the road in the plaza behind the gas station, in case that matters either way to someone :).
They have a separate gluten free menu which is essentially their entire menu (including the mac&cheese) - all with a gf twist. Staff was super helpful and will mark the food with an allergen sticker when it comes out. So many options! They have indoor and outdoor seating, drive up pick up and definitely kid friendly.
So many gluten free options! Pretty much their whole menu could be made gluten free and they even had a separate gluten free menu! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food and drink were very yummy!
