You can ask them not to butter or season your steak. Gluten in the seasoning. They will bring you a gluten free menu.
Had breakfast of bacon and eggs here. Also had grilled chicken tenders dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans. Decent food for a decent price. I was confused with the allergen menu they gave me, so I started pulling info from different websites about what the chain has that's GF (which is a lot). Not sure if celiac friendly.
Used to go to Cracker Barrel, as they have a good guide covering each item on the menu and the allergens. A bit of work to cross reference between the menu and the allergen guide, but it worked. Went there Nov 2024 and the menu has been cut back significantly. Unfortunately all GF entrees were removed! So, there was nothing I could eat. Had to leave and go elsewhere.
There was nothing for us to eat. We have Celiac and asked about dedicated fryers and more. Our waitress told us that if you are "sensitive" you could MAYBE eat x..y..or z but that she wouldn't recommend it. She was very nice but we chose not to stay and risk getting sick.
I can't say I would recommend eating at a cracker barrel if you have celiac or a gluten sensitivity, but they do have options should you need them. They have an allergen menu on their website with some gluten free items, but there is still a high risk of cross-contact.
I only ordered a side of mashed potatoes to be safe. Explained to the staff that I have celiac disease and the importance of no cross-contact. I didn't have a reaction.
