amazing ice cream (esp the hazlenut brittle with choc ganach) and theyre very gf knowledgeable. they have gf cupcakes that have delicious icing but the cake is only so so. they normally sell out and dont have a lot of flavors for cupcakes. I only like the salted caramel one.
The GF cupcake was huge and amazingly delicious...but not gluten-free, as I was sick immediately after eating it. I'm sure it's a cross-contamination situation. The server also was microseconds away from using the gluten tongs to grab it from the case before realizing the GF (specially marked) tongs are for GF cupcakes. Maybe if you're not super-sensitive, it's a chance you can take. Major bummer though.
their GF cupcakes are good, but made in a shared facility and depending on locations stored/displayed in the case with NON GLUTEN FREE cupcakes. You can call in the morning or night before and ask for any forsting of your choice to top the cake. you can also just get a frosting shot (which seems to be the only consistantly safe choice.. Staff knowledge is hit or miss in my opinion and only A couple of their ice creams are GF. Upon learning this i went specifically to sample one of said GF flavors, only to get there and have the guy pick out broken piece of cone from the ice cream. I passed all together.
Since I can't eat gluten or dairy (a terrible combo really) I didn't expect to be able to eat anything, but I was surprised. They had gluten free cupcakes that were also dairy free (except for the frosting) and they also had vegan cupcakes. So they scraped the frosting from the gluten free cupcake and put vegan frosting on it for me! It was absolutely delicious! Soft! Filling! Not TOO sweet! Probably the best cupcake I've ever had!!!!!
Love the gluten free cupcakes and ice cream here. They mark which items are GF so its easy to spot. Only reason it gets 4 stars is bc there are only 3 diff flavors of cupcake icing on choc cakes - salted caramel, chocolate, and vanilla. Salted caramel is amazing. The others are okay.
not celiac friendly, gf cupcakes are made in the same kitchen as their other cupcakes so cross contamination happens. My daughter had one once and was sick immediately, didn't make the connection at first. Then went in to order cupcakes for a party, asked how and where they were made and they told me. I asked them to put a sign not safe for celiac disease, but they wouldn't. Great Harvest Bread Co was the same way unfortunately...
Courteous service, nice cafe. Had 2 GF cupcake options which were above the others (clearly kept apart which I liked). But made with garbanzo bean flour which I personally do not like as it leaves an awful "earthy" aftertaste in my mouth. The cupcake as a whole was very decadent.
