Symptomatic Celiac

Overall Rating

If you are celiac, the gluten free options here are not safe. The griddle for the gluten free waffles is the same used as the others, the pancakes are made on the same griddles as others. I’m disappointed after reading the other reviews saying that they were careful about cross contamination but I had the owner straight up tell me that the GF options are not safe for celiac. The owner ended up taking our order and said they had a system in place for allergies. I ended up only getting eggs and potatoes. At least they have a system for allergies. The owner was kind and attentive and I appreciated her honesty. The waitresses and host didn’t seem to be as knowledgeable.

Our waitress was incredible. The owner is a complete doll!!! Our little girl is Celiac and they warned us that we shouldn’t do the waffles as they aren’t able to use a separate griddle. By telling them she was celiac they were able to insure her pancakes, bacon and eggs were completely safe. So grateful for an amazing breakfast and little one is happy and healthy! Brother also had the breakfast burrito and said it was good. Dad had the biscuits and gravy and loved it. I had the French toast platter and I am very pleased!

We have eaten here every time we are in Fort Bragg. It is SO good and they are accommodating and nice about it. I’ve had sandwiches, French toast and pancakes! All excellent and it tastes better when you’re not worried about being sick.

They were limited to a few tables outside and takeout. I had a GF waffle with bacon. The waffle was very good and I had no reaction. I am told based on tests that I am not celiac, but I had been gluten free for a long time when tested and I do react seriously. I had no reaction to this food.

When I told my server that I had Celiac Disease, the owner came over to sit at my table and personally informed me of what dishes I could safely eat as well as all of the precautions her staff takes to prepare them. She even checked on the type of starch used in the shredded cheese of the dish I ordered. She was extremely knowledgeable about Celiac and hidden sources of gluten. The sweetest part was when she hugged me and congratulated me that now that I had been diagnosed, my life could begin again, stronger and healthier. ❤ I felt fantastic after eating her thoughtfully prepared food. The food, the service, and kindness were all beyond amazing. I’m grateful for finding gems like this place (and the owner)! ❤

Staff was a-maze-ing! Totally understand gluten-free, and are super careful to not cross-contaminate. The salads are fantastic, very generous portions, and the homemade dressings are delicious. Will definitely be back when I return to the area!

The manager went out of her way to help us and make sure that we could eat here safely - she was very interested in the details of cross contamination and very helpful. We had a burger, fried in a separate pan, with a Udi’s bun and a side of fruit. It was delicious and we didn’t get sick and we’re super sensitive. Highly recommend!

Best gluten free pancakes I have eaten anywhere. I was afraid I got the wrong ones but they were gluten free. Huge portions of food for the price, couldn't even get close to finishing my breakfast!

Excellent place for lunch. Knowledgeable staff and care taken to avoid cross contamination. We called for directions 10 minutes before they closed at 2:00 pm. They said we were at least 10 minutes away but they would keep the kitchen open for us. I had a cup of Clam chowder GF and delicious. Also a half turkey sandwich. Their bread was Udi's, so not great, but the sandwich was fully loaded and magnificent. Prices were very low for the superior quality of the food.

The owner is very nice and chatty and told me NOT to order any sandwiches if I had celiac disease. She said the clam chowder was safe. It was good chowder.

Only G-F bread option offered was Udi's for toast. For breakfast I had a vegee scramble, bacon and side of potatoes. The owner made sure my food was prepared separately (THANK YOU). I think the cooks were too intimidated with the special handling because my food had NO seasoning (I declined their general restaurant seasoning because it has MSG). Salt & pepper to taste and the meal was good. I will try another place when next in Ft Bragg, just for some different flavors. One can eat G-F here safely.

Fabulous restaurant! The owner's son has a wheat intolerance, so she understands cross contamination issues. We LOVE the clam chowder and have had sandwiches, pancakes, and hamburgers, also. My kids loved the hometown feel. We can't wait to go back!
