They offer GF bread as an appetizer, it was great taste wise but a small serving which I wish was larger (two bite size pieces, munchkin sized) as compared to my partners full gluten loaf. I ordered a filet and mashed potatoes which is naturally GF, delicious. You will also want to make sure you're dresed pretty nice, definitley upscale.
Wonderful food! The waiter brought a gluten free menu the moment I mentioned celiac disease. Manager brought out my food and my waiter mentioned he had a gluten allergy and that they took great care! Warning this is a nice restaurant and although there’s no dress code, we did feel a bit under dressed after just walking around the city. Also definitely a splurge kind of meal, but highly recommend! Even the macaroons they give you as you leave are gluten free!
Fantastic Italian food and steak house. It is upscale and great for people with celiac. We have eaten here three times and no problems at all. They have gluten free bread and many gluten free options. It is a regular high end restaurant that does a great job with gluten free accommodations so everyone will enjoy it.
We had a wonderful experience here. They provided me with a very extensive gluten free menu, and they are very careful preparing gluten free items. They even brought me some really tasty, hot GF rolls. I had the arugula salad with shaved Parmesan and lemon olive oil, which was light. I chose the Tagliatelle Bolognese, which was excellent. My husband had one the special of the day, which was a seared tuna with shrimp dish. His looked amazing, and he enjoyed it. I didn’t taste it because I wasn’t sure it was GF. We didn’t order dessert because we were very full, but the waiter brought us two GF macarons to take with us. I had no adverse symptoms after eating at this restaurant, I highly recommend it.
Nice place. Waiter was aware and willing to ask about ingredients in dishes. I can’t have gluten or dairy. I ended up with steak, baby potatoes and asparagus. Also a chopped salad. All was good. They have gf pasta made with corn quinoa and rice. I avoid corn so I did not try it. They have potato gnocchi but it has cheese is in. They have gf rolls but also has cheese. Overall good experience.
Absolutely amazing! They have an extensive gluten free menu and regularly update gluten free recipes to make them better. They have bread, pizza, pasta, and cannolis! The managers drop allergies with a black napkin - additionally, the gluten free pasta is casarecce so all staff knows by looking at the plate that it is gluten free.
Celiac Food was superb! Separate GF menu, the head chef, JT, ensured that I was aware of my options. GF popovers were wonderful and closely matched the regular popovers served. I started with the clam chowder, outstanding. The tuna tartare was gf, replacing house made pita chips with slices of cucumber, delicious. Buratta was served with GF toasted bread. My main dish was a special, roasted chicken with a mushroom risotto. It was so flavorful, enjoyed every bite. For dessert was a gf Baked Alaska! GF cake with chocolate ice cream and a cloud of marshmallow that was toasted. EVERYTHING was sublime. It is pricey but worth every penny.
I ate here twice on a recent work trip to Boston. The staff was outstanding and so careful with my celiac needs. They brought gluten-free bread at the beginning the meal, but it was good, not great so I save room for the rest. I loved the warm spinach salad, salmon with Brussels sprouts, and a custom dessert of a semi-fredo with berries. The second night I had a tuna tartare appetizer, Caesar salad, steak with potatoes and asparagus, and berries for dessert. It was all outstanding! I will definitely go back.
Be sure to be cautious and double check your food at this location. I was brought over pasta with red sauce, and they had given me plain regular spaghetti instead of gluten free noodles. I was assured it was gluten free, but I waited to eat it because it didn’t look right to me. About two minutes later, the manager came over and took the dish letting me know they made a mistake. The pasta they gave me after was a different kind of pasta and was definitely gluten free. The red sauce was amazing, but definitely double check with your server! It did make me a bit paranoid for the rest of my trip.
Very nice restaurant. Went to this location last night before a show at Wilbur Theater. They brought me GF bread with my own butter dish right away. I ordered the GF gnocchi (see picture). It was very soft in texture, not something I’m use to, but I didn’t have any problems. We didn’t order dessert but were given two coconut macaroons to go which were also GF.
Davios does an amazing job with gluten free. They have a huge gf menu (you have to ask for it as it’s a separate menu) that includes homemade gnocchi and pasta. They are very cautious about food allergies. After I mentioned I had a gluten allergy (Celiac) they brought out gf bread without asking (in its own basket which had a different color napkin to indicate gf even though it was very obvious which bread was not gf), automatically subbed the bread that came with the app I ordered with gf bread (a different kind than the free gf bread) and explained which items on the dessert menu could be made gf. For each course they brought out they confirmed with me that my dish was gf without me asking.
Pricey, but so worth it to feel safe!
Unfortunately I have to share that our daughter was glutened and very sick after dinner last night. She had ordered pasta and we were told they were out but had some GF penne. Not sure if that is the source but she’s been very sick and we’ve lost a day of vacation. Appreciate that they seemed knowledgeable and accommodating but she definitely was glutened so celiacs beware.
Really good! They can make almost everything gluten free. I tried two different pastas (they were able to do a half portion of each) & it was delicious!
Staff was knowledgeable about celiac disease and gluten free dining . Separate GF menu with tons of selection. Food was delicious- homemade gnocchi with mushrooms was out of this world. They Even serve yummy GF rolls instead of bread basket. Friendliest staff I have ever met. They really go out of their way to make sure you are enjoying your experience. Service was definitely 5 star! I highly recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant really is amazing. GF menu with so many options. Waitress saw I had a GF menu and immediately mentioned it and asked if I was celiac. Then brought out warmed GF bread - first time I have ever been offered. Then the most delicious GF pasta meal followed by complimentary chocolates (GF). The waitress was knowledgeable and so professional. Cannot recommend more highly - so good!!
Phenomenal. The hostess asked about my allergy, and communicated it to both my waitress and the guy who brought THE MOST AMAZING GF ROLLS. I told the waitress I was trying to decide between two pasta dishes, and she offered that I could do half and half. Both were amazing. I didn’t have room for dessert, but there were 2 gf options. Overall the staff was super knowledgeable about the gf options and the food was really good.
This place is FANTASTIC! Amazing GF bread and house made pasta and gnocchi. I couldn't decide and the waitress offered to have them do half portions so I could try a couple things and it was PERFECT. The lobster risotto and the Bolognese were both truly wonderful. I stopped and just savored as soon as I put them in my mouth. I sat at the chef's bar and had very attentive service with the manager stopping by to confirm my gluten free food. Truly could not have had a better experience. I WILL be back.
Came here for our anniversary dinner and was blown away by the service, atmosphere, attention to detail, and GF offerings. We've been big fans of Nebo, but Davio's may honestly have become our new favorite restaurant in Boston for special occasions!
I never write reviews but this is important. In theory this restaurant is celiac friendly. They have a whole gluten free menu. I ordered the gluten free sausage and broccoli raab pasta and smoked chicken and walnuts with cream sauce. They had a gluten free pasta option and gluten free gnocchi. Both of the items I ordered came with the same kind of pasta, so I asked that the cream sauce dish come with the gluten free gnocchi instead. When my meal came, both dishes came with the gluten free pasta. My waiter didn't write down my order (also anxiety provoking for someone with celiac) so I don't know if it was his mistake or the kitchen staff's. I sent the one dish back and had them make it with the gluten free gnocchi as ordered. But there were so many people running my food, (not my waiter) that I worried the whole time I was eating it that they had accidentally given me gnocchi with wheat instead. I was greeted with a basket of wheat rolls and as I was finished a cart of wheat desserts were wheeled to my table. The food was amazing but I'm going to be worried about the gnocchi :( I have celiac and hashimotos and celiac response flares my hashimotos autoimmune response. The only reason why I went here is because Nebo was closed on Sunday My experience was much better there. If you need gluten free in boston, I suggest Nebo!
Separate gf menu with choices for every taste. Not just steaks- chicken, fish, and even vegetarians could find something on the menu. They acknowledged my gf meal when serving (which is something I appreciate) and offered me gf bread, which was like a mini muffin. I didn’t get the gnocchi or pasta, but it’s always nice to have lots of options.
They were really good about coming and checking if the cross contamination on the gnocchi was ok (I decided it wasn’t for me, but they did say they had had no issues before—it’s made in the same area as peanuts and other things). The gluten free pasta is bought and brought into the restaurant to avoid cross contact there, since they make the regular pasta. They even have two desserts that are gluten free!
Came here for a birthday dinner and it was an awesome experience! They have a gluten free menu and the waiter was very informative! The gluten free muffin things (in replacement of the popovers) tasted so good and were such a nice texture! The short ribs were amazing and they had so many GF desserts to chose from. Overall excellent atmosphere, staff, and service. Great for special occasions!
I attended a wedding rehearsal dinner here during Veteran's Day week-end. Peter Joly, the manager, made this one of the most memorable and amazing meals I have ever eaten. I am not only allergic to wheat/flour, but sulfites (found in wine and wine vinegars) and all milk products. He had his chefs make me a risotto and tuna steak with veggies, so decadent I took a picture of it. He also had a dessert of about 3 cups of luscious, ripe blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries> I was nervous because there were so many allergens; Peter checked on me frequently and made my first time as a customer to Davio's very special and memorable.
