Whilst staying in New Orleans we fancied seafood. And Denies came up as g/f. Well from start to finish I was looked after and the food was amazing.

So good. Fresh seafood, everything is made in house and the servers are knowledgeable about gluten!!! Separate fryers too! The cocktail sauce is spicy and very tasty!!!

It’s nice to have fried gluten free food since it’s hard to find. The crunch on the catfish and shrimp was so good, I thought hard to believe this is gluten free. Separate menu. Note the soft crab is fried with gluten flour , but the server said the fish and shrimp were separate.

This is a nice big restaurant with a good selection of food. They have a separate gf menu and use a separate fryer. I had the fried shrimp plate with French fries. I have celiac and feel fine.

Waitstaff was very knowledgeable and made a note of my allergy. Has a dedicated menu and was told a dedicated fryer. Amazing fried shrimp and oysters with a garden salad and green beans. So fun to be able to enjoy fried gluten free food!

Amazing food and service! My daughter and I are celiac. We had crab dip with cucumber app and each had a house salad. We shared the fried shrimp dinner that came with fries and Cole slaw. Everything was fried in a separate fryer. (They have a gf menu.) The party we were with are still raving about their meals. Delicious! Highly recommend.

Great place for fried gluten free seafood and fries! All proteins have their own fryer so you can have any seafood fried except the soft shell crab. Definitely a must try if you are craving fried seafood.

We came here after reading everyone’s reviews & it did not disappoint! It was expensive, I paid $22 for a lunch portion of fried shrimp & french fries but I hardly ever find fried shrimp that is truly gf so it was worth the money in my opinion!

Deanie’s Seafood is absolutely wonderful. I have a gluten sensitivity so I got their chargrilled oysters (with no bread) and their trio seafood platter. (Freshly fried with GF cornmeal, not super greasy.) It was all fantastic! Highly recommend it for my fellow non-gluten eaters!

When I was in NOLA I wanted some fried seafood. Saw the good reviews, man were they right! The lunch menu only had a few things but it was soo good! Their daily appetizer was fried green tomatoes, I asked if that was GF. They said unsure, but he would ask the kitchen. He came back and said they can make it GF. It was sooo good! I haven’t had a fried green tomatoes in over 5 years! For lunch I ordered the GF fried shrimp and fried catfish. It came with fries ( which is always a bonus bc no one ever has GF fries) and coleslaw. My family ordered non GF and said it was yummy. Separate fryers and they change their gloves!

GF catfish was awesome and there were 12 filets on the dinner option. You could split it with someone. Fries seemed like they were sitting for awhile. Grilled Red Fish was awesome flavor but pricy.

Was fantastic. They had a gluten free menu, a bit small but was plenty enough. One of the few places that had gluten free appetizers. Had the Shrimp dip with sliced cucumber. Ordered the combo dinner shrimp and catfish fried. Was told the batter was gluten free. Meal was great! Sadly was not impressed with the French fries. Did not get sick.

Awful experience. Bartender had no idea there was a gf menu available - she looked us dead in the eye and said “that is the gluten free one” with a piece of French bread on the plate. I double checked with her that the entree was gf before it came out - she said yes with a tude - i had them triple check when it came out and she was not pleased - it wasn’t gluten free. She said “thank god you had the other guy check” to me twice after. Yeah….. thanks

Amazing fried catfish, shrimp and crab. Was easily made gluten free. I am also sensitive to onion and garlic and was fine eating their fried items (just tell the waiter you would like it gluten free). I am not celiac though and am usually okay with a little cross contamination, so I did not ask about that.

The food was decent. They bring potatoes instead of bread out for a starter and those were gf. I had broiled shrimp (option for fried as well) and veggies. I did not have a reaction but the service was terrible. We had issues getting our server to come to the table and had to find a manager to her our check. We were a large group split into two and the other table stated their server was great. Possibly just got the worst server in the room but at least I didn’t get sick. I’d try a diff seafood restaurant next time due to the service we experienced at this one.

Had the BBQ shrimp…it was amazing. The server was somewhat knowledgeable but they also have a GF menu. I didn’t try anything fried (I rarely do, I just don’t trust them), but the BBQ shrimp was so good I will be thinking about it for days. Of course I couldn’t get the toast to dip in the sauce, so I got a side of rice and it was a great idea. I’ll totally come here again.

Great food. Had the fried catfish and fried shimp. Both were excellent. The meal was preceded by potatoes that were boiled in the seasonings used for the seafood boils. Drinks were also excellent and staff was friendly.

Celiac friendly?

Yes

They have a gluten free menu and will cook in olive oil. The only problem for me was the sides since I am also allergic to soy and canola. The soft shell crabs were very good and well seasoned.

Our server was celiac and she took me through the gluten free menu. The gf menu is quite extensive. They have a dedicated fryer and use cornmeal so celiacs can have the deep fried seafood.

Fried shrimp delivered by someone other than our waiter - we asked if it was GF - she just shrugged! Nice GF menu but if the staff isn’t aware of the risk we take to eat out then not worth going back.

Waiter was extremely knowledgeable about gf items. I had the amazing fried shrimp platter. The portion size was huge and it was so awesome to have fried food. The waiter wasn’t sure if the potatoes were gluten-free but after reading other reviews I decided to eat them. No problem!

Note: This is for the Garden district location! I wouldnt go back here. The waitor was clueless about gluten. No gluten free menu. Ordered the bbq shrimp to share with my girlfriend who eats gluten, so we asked for the bread on the side. When the food comes, the bread is right in the middle of the food. The waitor didn’t even understand the issue with that. Besides the food, the lokale has zero of the original Deanies charm! Go to the one on lake ave for the right experience. This locations seems to be run by kids who dont really care about food. The friend shrimp was delicious!
