New We looked on Find Me Gluten Free and found this gem! I can’t say enough about what a great little family owned and operated BBQ place this is. Upon arrival I asked about gluten free options and was given a list what we could have by the owner herself. She said she personally makes the gluten free dishes and brings them to the table before the other dishes so there is no confusion. My only wish was that the collard greens were gluten free, but the owner said she uses a bullion that isn’t. This place is aware of what they are doing and they always takes precautions to make sure It’s a good dining experience. I will be back here on every visit and to this area of Tennessee. I had the brisket, potato salad and baked beans, all of which were very good. Definitely felt safe eating here will suggest it to anyone who asks.
We had GF brisket, baked potato and cole slaw! All amazing! Award winning BBQ place! Very knowledgeable! Woman working probably the owner, knew her stuff!
They have so many gluten free options. They're knowledgeable and friendly. They do what they can go accomodate dietary restrictions. Family owned. Very good good and great atmosphere.
This place was amazing!! I called ahead to make sure they could do gluten free and accommodation my allergy of tamarind. They said yes to gluten free but were not sure about the tamarind. When I got there I went up to the counter with the menu and ask them what I could have that was gluten free and there were so many options. When I ask about the other allergy they were still not sure . They talked to me about what the item was and what it was in, then went to the kitchen and brought out the ingredient for me to look at. When they saw there was one item on their menu I could not have because of this they found away to offer it to me safely. I ordered the brisket with burnt ends. They were amazing and a lot of food. Please go there hungry so you can enjoy all the food!!!
There aren’t many restaurants that are GF friendly in the Gatlinburg area. So to find one that actually had great food was a pleasant surprise. The owners know exactly what is safe for you to order, and since you order at the counter, you can get the skinny on your choices. I think they said all of their smoked meats and sauces were GF, plus they had a few sides that were safe. But the clincher for us was the homemade Mac n cheese. It was succulent! We both had brisket which was perfectly seasoned and tender. Really a great dinner. The place is sort of off the beaten path (it has free parking which was a plus). It’s very down-home and not fancy at all, but if you’re looking for excellent BBQ, you’ll find it here.
Great food and experience. Kind of a hole in the wall type place. Very small family owned restaurant. Was able to order the bbq pork platter. Baked beans, slaw, and potato salad are gluten free. Everything tasted great.
This is the best BBQ I’ve had — not to mention the staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating for gluten free. Had the brisket, ribs and pulled pork. Baked beans, potato salad and coleslaw were gluten free, and they even offered some gluten free Mac and cheese. The owner was so kind and even told us to call ahead next time if we have any special GF requests. He also told us when someone comes in with a gluten allergy, one person prepares the dish and then runs it to the table to avoid and miscommunication or contamination.
Vacationing with Celiac can suck. I can almost never eat at the local raved about restaurants when we go exploring, so I was really excited to hear about this place. Owner and family very knowledgeable about Celiac AND there are a lot of options available. When we were there all of the meats and sauces were gluten-free. About half of the sides were gf, too. Unlike other places I've been, they actually knew that shared food oil foods were not gf, etc. I'm not used to having so many choices, so it was nice. The owner also gave us his number for if we come back to town so he could get gf noodles for Mac n cheese. On top of that, the food was really good. Brisket was our favourite, but the pulled pork was also amazing.
The owners are knowledgeable about gluten and cross contamination. They are very helpful. He offered to cook my tater tots separately. He told me the cheese and chips are gluten free. I had the pulled pork nachos. I have felt fine. And the food was delicious.
Staff seemed super knowledgeable about GF
Staff seemed super knowledgeable and the food was so delicious
So after all the reviews here and on Google, found that my expectations weren't met. From the outside this place looks like a dump. It's a definite hole in the wall. Looks like they moved in last week. We arrived right at opening time on a Sunday and there were three tables that already had folks at them. I believe there are eight total. After a couple of minutes of standing at the sign that says wait to be seated, a lady came from behind the counter to give us each a small menu along with a plea to return them when we come up to order. Apparently they only have ten. I asked about GF and she said that all meats and sauces are GF. But she only believes that the green beans and potato salad is safe. We sat down to review the menu and she came over to say that they could make a dedicated fryer for tater tots or fries. You have to go up to the counter to order. The same person took our order and indicated to the chef that we need GF aka no bun. My daughter ordered tater tots and green beans with pulled pork. I got the green beans and potato salad with my pork. My son, who only eats gluten occasionally as a preference ordered a bun with his pork, fries and baked beans. Several more families arrived after we ordered. Two of them received their orders prior to us. So I went to the counter to inquire. They said that they started the oil for the dedicated fryer so it was taking time to heat up. Oh. Well, that's very nice but a heads up on the extra time would have been good, was my thought. We finally received our food 45 minutes after we ordered. Our food was hot which meant they plated it with the tater tots, so that's a plus. We all thought the food was plentiful but average. We've eaten better BBQ. Sauce was nothing special. Potato salad was good. Green beans had a good flavor but overcooked (they were too soft, smooshy). Baked beans were good. Tots were comparable to frozen. So, if we come back to Gatlinburg, I'd probably skip it.
The staff was amazing!! The food was delicious and they were so careful! I highly recommend eating here! Love love love!
This family owned restaurant is a fantastic little spot! The owner is familiar with celiac. While they were very busy and their son (the server/busser) put a bun on my plate. They apologized multiple times and said only 1 person handles the food, they remade my entire plate. I had brisket, pulled pork and ribs, for my side I had collard greens and green beans. The pulled pork was my favorite by itself and with the BBQ sauce and the collard greens were really good too! I did not get sick! It's a small place and they ran out of food by 530p so go early!!
