Amazing gluten free menu Their burgers are great with the gluten free muffin
Questionable. Dennys does have an extensive allergy list and gluten free items however it all depends on how much your server cares. I didn't get one that did. I let her know of my wheat allergy but she didn't seem to care. Someone else's bread was hovering over my salad. Eat at your own risk.
Didn't get the best service, but Everything seemed alright. Let it be known however, that you have to be very specific when explaining that you have an allergy / celiac disease when ordering, as their menu is Gluten sensitive and their common staff memebers (non-managers) are not well informed.
Good attentive service and food PLUS I accidentally dropped my passport in the booth when I got my phone from my pocket. I didn’t realise it was missing until an hour after I left. I phoned and they found it and put it aside for me to pick up. Great relief... and beyond the usual service! (I forget the name of the server who helped but I overheard that she was going to work at a Denny’s in Seattle. So if her colleagues read this, thanks so much!)
Although the waitress tried to be helpful I never helped her understand just a little is too much. Then the offer of dry gf muffins, hashbrowns and egg white (from container) ham and cheese on the same griddle made me realize it wa as too big of risk! My family enjoyed their food very much. I recommend if you are not gluten allergic or celiac.
On the road... I don't expect everyone to be familiar with celiac but I've encountered many servers at Denny's who are. They have helped me to order & oversaw my requests to the kitchen. I have never gotten sick eating at Denny's. The menú helps to ID GF items. Build your own meals are a good choice. I recommend their excellent GF English muffin.
Very pleasantly surprised. Stopped here on the way home from pacific city because I was really hungry and craving eggs and it was the only place open that had a hint of gf food. I usually avoid diner style restaurants bc I worry about cross contamination, but they answered my questions knowledgeably and it seemed really safe. They cook the eggs and sausage in fresh pans and the gf muffins come separately packaged. I tried the grand slam with eggs, sausage, fruit and their gf muffin and it was great! Didn’t get sick. It’s diner food still, so don’t expect a gourmet meal, but it was exactly what I was craving.
Good food. Fantastic service. Beware, the fryer isn’t dedicated so fries and tortilla chips aren’t really gf although marked as such. BUT after talking, the server said she was going to insist that an unused fryer become a dedicated gf fryer and went back and talked to the kitchen manager immediately. We’ll see the next time I eat there.
The Mediterranean chicken and the little crunchy shoestring potatoes on the salad both tested GF on the Nima sensor. The GF designations are right on the menu, but you should still specify to the waitstaff because they always seem moderately confused.
I ordered an omelette and hash browns hoping maybe those would be gluten free but there has to be major cross-contamination going on here because I had a reaction to gluten. It could’ve just been an unfortunate mistake but I wouldn’t go back.
Independently owned/operated franchise with MANY *GF* options very clearly identified on the menu. Three separate flattop grills; will do "allergy prep" if requested. Sadly, the butter spread is served in condiment cups, not individual packets, so it's not guaranteed GF.
I haven’t been to Denny’s since before I was gluten free and I was pleasantly surprised. The breakfast menu has a large selection of gluten free options including hash browns and English muffin. Our waitress communicated my needs to the kitchen. My English muffin came grilled with butter on the side. I’m only giving 4 stars because the lunch/dinner menu looks much more limited, but this is a good choice for breakfast.
Be careful eating at Denny’s. I ate successfully there on 3 occasions. However, today was not a good experience. I always state to waitress the necessity of eating GF and to please inform the kitchen staff. Halfway through my hash browns there was a quarter size pancake fried within. I talked to Manager and she said they try to be careful and brush down the grill between orders. Denny’s will no longer be an option for me. I’m reviewing the chain, not this specific location.
Denny’s has many foods labeled as gluten free in their menu, such as the nachos and fries, but they are prepared in a way that makes them absolutely volatile for anyone with celiac, and I have become extremely ill many times after eating there. I in no way recommend Denny’s as I have been lied to on multiple occasion about prep, in addition we have been served food that is definitely not gluten free (an English muffin) instead or the gluten free alternative.
The staff wasn’t knowledgeable about gluten free and I would not recommend any Denny’s if one has Celiac disease My salad was ordered gf but came w croutons on it. In addition our grandson ordered the Italian Sampler & the meatball he tried to eat tasted weird which ruined the rest of his meal. I tried their nachos and they did not sit well
