Not safe for Celiacs! To begin with, they wiped down the counter right in front of the open prepped food (lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, etc…) but then they ended up moving our food over to another counter that was covered in gluten bread crumbs. They toast their gluten buns right in the middle of all of it and there were crumbs everywhere. Right next to the open veggies. I also noticed that only one employee changed their gloves before making our food even though another employee was making part of it.
Then, after we were served I watched them bring out trays upon trays of gluten buns and lay them on all of the prep surfaces, right next to all of the chopped food that goes on the burgers. They were taking the buns off the trays and putting them into other bags right by all of the open fold. Crumbs were going everywhere. There is no way that cross contamination isn’t happening with all of the chopped food like lettuce, tomatoes, etc in this situation. When I saw this happening we got up, threw the rest of our food away and left. Unfortunately my son has been sick all week since we ate here. :(
If they’re going to claim that they can safely prepare food without cross contamination then they should be aware that their employees are handling all of the gluten buns right next to ALL of the food, the prepped veggies/cheese, etc and this is a huge risk for people with celiacs disease.
All employees handling food for a gluten allergy should know to wipe down every surface that they’re going to be putting the food on also, as well as changing their gloves after wiping down said surfaces.

Customer service wasn’t the greatest, the food was spectacular! I had the bacon bleu on a gluten free bun with truffle fries and it was delicious from the first to the last bite! Would highly recommend!

My Celiac son loves Dickie Jo's!! We have been there multiple times. Once there was an onion ring laying on my sons fries they had no problem re-making his meal. Just wish they were closer to us!!!

My favorite burger place! Their GF buns make for delicious hamburgers and their fries and DJ sauce are so so good. The employees are really nice and they almost always ask if for an allergy or not.

Pretty affordable, cute, fun atmosphere. Food was pretty greasy and I felt a little stomachache afterward. But I don’t think I got “glutened.” The gluten free bun was not falling apart like I’ve come to expect.
Good burgers, and you don't have to wait too long.

Delicious burgers- my hubby's regular hamburger bun fell apart while my GF one stayed together, which is a nice change! Garlic fries are yummy and finally got to have a safe chocolate milkshake- greasy but amazing!

My children love it here! I'm a burger snob and these are tasty! No tummy trouble on multiple occasions, price is decent, atmosphere is light, service is solid, very gf friendly.
Fabulous! The best gluten free burgers and fries! They are also super conscientious of whether it's due to an allergy that you're substituting a GF bun.
A burger joint I can actually have a bun with my burg!! So good, safe and fries too!!

So happy there's a burger joint in Eugene I can eat at! I was assured that the fryer is dedicated and they have gf buns :) I'm celiac and I didn't have any issues with cross contamination!
One of my favorite "safe" places in town. Always a yummy meal.
great food, lots of options, very celiac friendly

I have Celiac and was able to eat here with no issues. The staff is very aware of cross-contamination and have separate fryers & prep/cook areas for gluten free. Highly recommend!

Gross food really unimpressed and cross contamination
Two thumbs up! When a hamburger sounds good, Dickie Jo's beats Red Robin. Dedicated fryers for yummy hot French fries. Definitely Celiac friendly.

Wow! Just wow. Amazing, spectacular. I have never enjoyed a GF burger and fries more than I have today. Just by chance we stopped by finding it GF friendly on this site. We almost didn't go but was really wanting fries. So glad we did. Only downside is I wish they would branch out as there are only two locations. Please oh please branch out.

I ate at a Dickie Jo's yesterday (it was actually in Tualatin, but I've eaten happily at this one too), and they're wonderful as ever. I remember the first time I walked into this restaurant, I was shocked at how accommodating they are. Most burger joints don't even offer a veggie burger, so it's a huge deal. They change their gloves and have dedicated equipment. Plus, all of their fries are gluten free! I'm a vegan (by choice) and gluten free (so I don't die) and they're wonderful. Sadly, the gluten free bun is not vegan (it has eggs to hold it together, as many GF breads do), but I came up with a carb-laden solution. I ordered a vegan patty as a lettuce wrap, and I was feeling bummed about the lack of breadstuffs, so I took my garlic fries (if nothing else, GET THOSE. Incredible.) and stuffed them inside my wrapped-up lettuce burger. It feels like you're eating something deliciously unhealthy while onlookers think you're a weirdo who's choosing eating a lettuce wrap. It's wonderful. You'll find a great meal in a burger and fries here, and if you can't have the bun for some reason (if you don't eat eggs, don't like fake bread, want to eat fewer carbs in general, etc) then you'll still have a great lettuce wrapped burger and fries.
