Great food! Got the ribs/wings combo. Delish! Creole deviled eggs we’re a bit spicy for me. Great food. Washed it down with a raspberry cider ( alcohol)

They had a specific gf menu with lots of choices. Fantastic food and the best bbq I've ever had and I'm from Texas. Highly recommend.
Barbecue sauce is gluten-free
Wonderful staff - very knowledgeable with GF menu - delicious food. Fun/Cool environment.

This place was delicious and safe. The waitress knew what she was talking about with regards to gluten etc.

Delicious BBQ for Brooklyn, very good bar, never had any cross contamination issues. The key, as usual, let them know if you are celiac. Manager brings out plate which is different than a general diners plate.

The server understood when I said "celiac" and the food was fantastic. Gluten free menu is available and is clearly marked.

Safe bet! Many options and a gluten free menu & beer ππ

GF menu is available. Staff not super knowledgable but aware and helpful for food allergies and celiac. My daughter had the honey chicken wings and was fine. The dinner plates seem to come with a piece of corn bread. I didn't get a chance to ask if it was GF or not. Corn bread was not specifically listed on the Gf menu. So make sure to confirm to avoid sending a plate back. Hoisin chicken wings are listed on the GF menu which surprised me since hoisin sauce is typically not GF.

Great gf BBQ food. Restaurant has dedicated gf menu that is pretty comprehensive in terms of menu options. The one thing is that they will sometimes put corn bread on the dish (which is not gf ). Just ask the server to not put it on.

Knowledgable staff. Gf plates are different color.
Yes
Great Bbq and the manager served my plate separately. They understand food allergies.
Yes
Not dedicated gf facility BUT all staff is very knowledgeable of food allergies and take your request seriously. Very good protocols, gf clearly labelled and food comes out on different-colored allergen dedicated plates.

Ugh. I am leaving this review feeling very conflicted. I LOVE dinosaur bbq and have eaten safely at their other establishments (Syracuse&Brooklyn) numerous times. We even had them cater our wedding!! This review is specifically related to my experience at the Troy location. I ate there last Sunday, specified that I have Celiac Disease and was halfway through my meal when I noticed a small piece of cornbread mixed into my mashed potatoes! I am 3 months pregnant, was a 4 hour drive from home and was a total mess worrying about the possible aftermath. The waitress and manager were very apologetic and kind but the damage was done and I refused their offer of a new dish. Obviously there was some carelessness in the kitchen that day and I worry about how strict their GF protocol is at this location. This may be an isolated incident and I know accidents do happen, but I’d advise anyone who eats at this location to be extremely careful, maybe request the manager to oversee your plate and inspect your food before you eat it!

They have a separate fryer and took the proper steps to make sure everything was gluten free. Their wings are amazing.

Keep in mind that the Dinosaur website is explicit that they can't guarantee no cross-contamination and they're not responsible for any issues a diner may experience. I've been to this location many times and usually have felt safe as a celiac and enjoyed the bbq but unfortunately this time left me less supportive. The waiter was thoroughly clueless about celiac and I had to be forceful to impress upon him how serious celiac is and that the kitchen needed to be careful. He was polite and appeared to listen but I was nonetheless worried.
The real disappointment was that the quality of the food has gone down. The brisket was loaded with globs of fat, the greens were mushy, and the coleslaw loaded with unmixed mayonnaise.
To be clear, I didn't have any reaction so my rating is based on the poor quality of the food and the fear of possible contamination. There is better and safer bbq in NYC.
Ordered take out on door dash. Got the bbq chicken with mashed potatoes (specified in the comments needed to be gluten free due to celiac and please no gravy) also got the black beans and rice. Food arrived with sticker on the container specifying “gluten free”. Was great until I opened it and there’s gravy on the potatoes (which has gluten) called and was told I had to go through door dash for the refund. At least sides are packaged in individual containers so I could still have the rest of the meal. The chicken was good but I was not a fan of the black beans and rice. I’ve also had the salt potatoes on separate occasion and wasn’t a fan.
