This pizza is exceptional. The crust is amazing & they prepare gf pizza separately if you let them know you have an allergy. I got the margarita pizza & loved it- didn’t need a bunch of toppings to be delicious. The workers are so nice & the price was great for gluten free, celiac safe pizza in NYC. They also had amazing gluten free bread that was served with the salad! I’m celiac and did fantastic here. One note- they split receipts between your table. We are on a business trip & needed individual receipts but had to pay as a whole table.
This place is almost too good to be true for a Celiac. They have a dedicated oven for gluten free food and serve an amazing Gluten Free Belgium beer. The staff demonstrated genuine concern for me and went above and beyond to make necessary accommodations. The pizza was the best gluten free pie I’ve ever had. I live out of town but can’t wait to come back next year!
The GF pizza was amazing!!! Hand made not from a package. Toppings were awesome! Service was great and waiter was awesome about making adjustments and recommendations for us that were GF. There’s a GF menu at the end of the regular menu. We had the pistachio pesto pizza. Sounds like a strange combo but was great!
Had pizza from here when my husband and I went to NY a few days ago. We bought pizza to take back home to CT for dinner. I had my gluten free pizza and it was delicious! I had the margarita pizza. I ordered light sauce and extra cheese. I didn't have any issues. When we go back to NY again, we will definitely be getting our pizza from here.
The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We have been many times, and was never glutened. The food was and has been amazing every day time. We got the Materdei panini, a salami margarita pizza, and a salad. Again all delicious, and we highly recommend! Amazing gluten free crust and a dedicated gluten free pizza oven.
Ordered delivery through Grubhub. Delivery was fast and pizza was still hot. The crust is probably one of the best gf crusts I’ve ever had. It’s the perfect amount of chew and stretch, bubbles and airiness. I ordered the GF Quattro formaggi. I would order different toppings next time. The pizza flavor was just okay; red sauce would have made it better!
Staff was very friendly, but it was a hectic environment and seemed like not everyone was trained on celiac. I’ve ordered from here once and felt fine, but when I went to eat there the other day, I decided to try my Nima, and it tested positive for gluten.
Oh my God! I've been a celiac since 2003 and have traveled all over the US and internationally. I was stunned to discover the pizza at Don Antonio. It is exquisite and without a doubt the best I've ever had in the US. I have long said that the best crust I've ever had was from Donatella's in Florence Italy. But, this crust was at least a tie for first place. It's has elasticity in the middle and crunch on the outside. According to my non-celiac husband it is indistinguishable from classic, scrumptious NYC crust. You. Must. Try. It! p. s. They even had lunch sized gf pizza. I have never been anywhere that offered two different sized gf crusts!
Ate here on Friday night and I was glutened for sure, without a doubt. Which is such a bummer because the staff was so kind and accommodating. Currently holed up in my hotel room riding the wave and hoping this doesn’t totally ruin our weekend trip.
I have eaten here and ordered take out many times, it is our go to pizza place. Last night was the first time that I had an issue. I ordered the gluten free vegetable pizza. When it was delivered the crust looked a little different but I thought it was just well done. When I took a bite, it tasted different so I used my Nima to test it. Gluten found! :( So I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, he was very apologetic and offered to send me another. Because I have had such good experiences here I figured why not get another and I’ll just test that one too. The second pizza arrived, and automatically I noticed a difference in the crust, it looked lighter the way it usually does. I tested it just to be on the safe side, gluten free :) ! The manager called back to check on my order. He apologized again. He also mentioned that they have a separate kitchen space for their gluten free pizza and use a separate oven. The only gluten free items that are not celiac safe are the fried ones, make sure you tell them that you have celiac because they will explain which gluten free items are safe. I’ve eaten the pizza dozens of times and it’s the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had! This was the first issue I had so I would still recommend it.
We stopped in for a gluten free pizza today based on the positive reviews posted. I am a very sensitive celiac. I will say it was a great tasting pizza but unfortunately I was glutened. I’m not sure if it was cross contamination or a reaction to ingredients but if you’re a sensitive celiac I would advise against this place.
