Warning: I was glutened eating here, and it was the sickest I’ve been in months. Definite cross contamination issue - even after I clearly outlined I was celiac to the staff and they said “we serve celiacs every day”.
I asked them how they cleaned their woks, and they just use hot water and scrub. Since every gluten-containing dish is also made on one of their woks and they are unable to clean the woks with soap (and woks are like cast iron pans, they absorb all the food that is cooked on them) I was HEAVILY glutened.
To other celiacs considering trying this place out - unfortunately I would never eat here again. For the celiacs that say they eat here often - I’d say it is highly likely that you’re getting CC on a regular basis and I’d ask the kitchen more questions.
🚨 ALERT. They claim to have a gluten free menu and awareness but most of their options are not only cross contaminated in a shared fryer … also, their kitchen only has two woks which means sharing - no dedicated gf space as I had been told before. I’d been wondering why so foggy-headed and strange after each meal…. Today I spoke with their manager who informed me all previous servers thrice(!) had served me cross contamination—even though they had been adamant was safe and no cross contact. If you do dine here and are severely reactive to CC, stay away from anything that has tofu (or ask without it) and do not get the beans. Today they said the only wheat they use in their fryer is spring roll and the outside of the roll is rice but the filling contains wheat. So those who aren’t celiac may be fine…. But they really should consider placing a warning on their menu since three occasions the servers or phone answerers told me otherwise. Lesson learned. One should always stick with speaking to the manager or owner of any place that is not dedicated GF.
I come here often, wonderful food! It is a pretty stress-free experience and they have knowledgeable staff. They have a separate GF menu with lots of options. The only item that I’ve felt glutened after eating was the ABC chicken, after my last visit I clarified with staff that it is not cooked in a separate fryer.
We went here last week with my mom and daughter we got the ABC chicken and the Mongolian beef. They were so good! My daughter said it was the best meal she has ever had and I’m the one with celiac. If your in the area it is so good you have to try it.
The waiter was very knowledgeable and kind about celiac friendly options. And they have a GF menu. They even brought out sealed gf soy sauce packets. Unfortunately, my daughter was sick after the meal, and when we tested the leftovers (Mongolian Beef, like Steve) with our Nima, it came back positive for gluten (2 tests).
So tasty! I have celiac and also can't eat corn, so it is hard to find safe Chinese food, let alone so many choices on the GF menu. The server said they use potato starch here instead, and for one dish that didn't (lemongrass chicken) they just made it without the sauce. Everything was delicious and I don't even have the very minor cc symptoms I sometimes get from restaurant food. I'd come here every week if it was closer.
Large gluten-free menu card and tasty dishes with good quality ingredients!
Only missing are small gluten-free soups as appetizer.
Staff was well aware of gluten free importance. Menu seems very similar to P.F. Changs but has a slight variation in ingredients. Food was very delicious and ambiance was relaxed, friendly, and opened.
