My five stars are based on the delicious jambalaya that I could eat- no roux! Very fresh, nice and spicy, full of shrimp and sausage! The steamed clams were good, too. Because I can’t have anything cooked in a shared fryer, my GF options were pretty limited. Be aware that they mark items cooked in a shared fryer as GF on the menu! If you are interested in very fresh oysters or clams or jambalaya, check it out. But double check the prep of your menu selection if you are very sensitive.

Dredge marks the GF items on their menu. I ordered the pork shoulder with rice and beans, and although it was kind of bland and pricey, it did the job! I told the server I had a gluten allergy and asked if the kitchen could change their gloves. She seemed aware of cross contamination issues and assured me that steps to avoid it would be taken. So overall, it was a pretty good experience!

I enjoyed the blackened catch of the day (also available grilled or fried. Items on the menu were marked GF and our server explained they had a GF batter for any of the fried items. I didn’t ask about a dedicated fryer as that’s not an issue for me, but I was excited to be able to get the fried oyster appetizer, which was yummy too. Sides were treated creatively and were well-executed. The owner/chef even checked on us to make sure everything was ok. Excellent find in an otherwise food wasteland.
