This is the only place around where I have found GF pancakes. Nothing special, but I'm not having to cook. I've only had issues with cross contamination once and have been many times. It is a favorite of mine, but I'm not fond of the toast.
They are gluten free, but not the toast. The last time we were in the server informed us the toaster was used for "all" breads......
The food is okay, nothing special. Celiac people beware - they offer gluten free toast and pancakes, but the toast is thrown in the same toaster as the regular bread. Glad I asked! A small $8 investment in a separate toaster would be nice, but apparently they don't understand the seriousness of cross-contamination.
ALittle diner with separate grills for foods....omelet was cooked in pan and hashbrowns were good! There a few gf menu item on menu.
Absolutely love this place. Today waste first time but definitely worth the drive (I live an hour away). Customer service was amazing. Everybody that I talk to that works there was polite and friendly. I do have celiac disease. told them I had celiac disease. They made sure to let the cooks know and they used different utensils and everything it’s been hours later and I have no reaction still. I had the cinnamon roll pancakes with hash brown, and a side of bacon
Amazing for celiac!!! They’ll clean the flat top, change utensils, etc. New owners. Even the specialty pancakes can usually be made GF. So knowledgeable. I had the cinnamon roll pancake, eggs and hash browns. Service was wonderful. Made me feel so safe. They also have GF toast with a separate toaster and non-dairy options too.
I've never had any issues eating at East Egg. Their GF pancakes aren't the greatest, but still very enjoyable. I order them often. (And I didn't have to make them!) I have not been impressed with their GF bread.
