Awesome! I did NOT get sick! Told the server I have a gluten allergy and ordered the steak salad from the "celiac friendly" menu. A gluten free bun came with it and all their salad dressings are gluten free. I am very pleased with my experience here. I have eaten here several more times since, and did not get sick! 😄
We have had a few bad experiences at other Eat n' Parks close to home, but we were travelling down the turnpike and desperate so decided to try here. They were so kind and careful with our celiac child. We spoke with a manager and they made extra care to prepare her meal in a dedicated GF area of the kitchen. My child also loved the hamburger bun so much that we decided buy 24 buns for the freezer. Since the buns come sealed, I think we will go ahead and get their buns from Eat n' Parks from now on actually as they tasted MUCH better than Udi's or Aldi buns.
I am a very sensitive celiac and I had no issues here. I ate scrambled eggs, bacon and fruit. They brought my food out with others, but I had no issues with cross contamination. They offered a gluten free roll, but I declined.
Easy to navigate menu, yummy gf buns & gf knowledgeable. I asked a couple questions abt their precautionary measures concerning cross contamination & our server then notified the manager who explained about their process which involves a kit. Special care was given to my Cheeseburger which was very tasty. The manager brought my meal out separately. Satisfactory meal & I feel great.
Burger with GF bun, ask for GF BAKED fries and you won't have an issue. Breakfast is great, only had an issue once when they gave the wrong potatoes, but they replaced the whole meal right away. All american scrambler is a fave, with a gf bun instead of bagel. They are very accomodating if you are specific.
For a short order chain diner, not bad food. They have a celiac friendly menu, and the waitress said they have dedicated prep areas. I only gave them 3 stars, though, because the waitress was kind of rude. She wanted us to believe she was overwhelmed, even though there was only like 3 or 4 tables. Oh well, I’d eat here again, but hope for a better waitress. I may have to live with celiacs, but the waitress has to live with her hair style choices, and I’m okay with that. Update: we ate here again, and had a completely different experience. Our Waitress was friendly and attentive, and was familiar with the GF menu.
My boyfriend and I ordered a gluten-free bun and they both came out really soggy. I’m assuming they froze them and then threw them in the microwave.. The eggs were also undercooked. On a positive note, when I ordered fries, my waitress then came back and told me they were not gluten-free, which I appreciated! The waitress was good, but we were not impressed with the food by any means!
I ordered a burger with gluten free bun and the waitress suggested pan fries because they are gluten free. Sadly something was cross contaminated and made me severely ill.
The manager went out if his way to make us crust less strawberry pie
This is a great safe option along the PA turnpike. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. There were plenty of options (including dessert), and our celiac daughter was very happy. When it came time to box up her leftovers, our server brought us out a new glove to use so we didn't touch her food after handling our gluten. We'll probably be back on our next road trip!
I enjoy eating breakfast here and have had no reactions. Their burgers with gluten free buns are great.
they are good about being gluten free and have never had an issue with food, but our service is usually bad so i avoid coming here unless it’s to purchase the gluten free buns! you can order those separately and they are GREAT!
The staff here had attended special training and the manager brought my food out separately to me. The menu includes a special section detailing GF offerings and describing how to modify other items ( for example, delicious GF buns are available for burgers or sandwiches ). It is a diner, so the food is diner food, but they went to the extra effort for me such that I felt safe.
I am not sure what happened last time. We had gone to this location specifically because of my celiac since I had eaten something here safely before, but I got terribly sick and was truly the first time I was "glutened" since diagnosis a few years ago :(
Very impressed, I notified my server that I had celiac disease and I asked if she could ask the kitchen staff to please change gloves when handling my food. I ordered a turkey burger on gluten free bread and she came back to let me know the turkey burger would normally go through the grill that also had bread in there, so she said they could cook mine on the grill too instead so it wouldn't be by the bread and get contaminated, very sweet. Great service, thank you Jenny!!!
restaurant bathrooms disgusting. only thing gluten free a bun which they would not toast for bteKfast. could not fry things on grill because of cross contamination . no gluten free menu. waitressesl uninformed about allergies. had fruit and coffee. will never go bavk
Have eaten here for years when in town. I tell the server I'm Celiac and they know what to do. There's a separate section on the main menu just for us. FYI, they'll make you "home fries" (grilled potato slices) to go with your Angus burger if you'd like, since they don't have a dedicated fryer for French fries. Service is terrific and so is the food.
Food was very good. I loved the gluten free bun (it was 75¢ extra). Waitress was very helpful with the gluten free. They have a little gluten free section within the regular menu. It would be awesome to have been able to have a smiley cookie. For the month of June 2017 children meals are 99¢ and both my children received a special Happy Birthday cup for Smiley since it is his 30th Birthday.
Went here for breakfast and ordered a sandwich with their GF bun and a side of fruit. Although it tasted ok and the service was good, I ended up sick before we even left the restaurant. I'm thinking maybe cross contamination!? Probably won't go back.
