The lady at the counter said everything was contaminated except the beans, but you could get tortillas wrapped in foil if you're not super sensitive. I really appreciate her honesty. But she admitted she doesn't even eat there. She has celiac.
I went and was surprised that the lady at the register was celiac. She kindly asked the kitchen staff to heat the tacos separately, not on the shared grille. Clearly, the kitchen staff needed to be instructed, but I had a good experience at El Burro. Just be clear about what you need, and make sure they don't use the shared grille. The mahi mahi was breaded, but the shrimp tacos were delish! Don't eat the tortilla chips!
This place is definitely not celiac safe! I thought last time I was there I had a reaction, but I had eaten other crap too. So I tried it again tonight. Made sure to ask they were corn tortillas etc.. well.. instant celiac reaction after eating. What kind of taco place can do vegan and vegetarian but not manage to do gluten free??? Also, the Carne asada was tough and chewy. It's sad because a few years ago I was able to eat here. Not sure what they changed, but it's not good!!

Rolled corn tortilla tacos. Ordered the only cider on the menu the last time I visited and was given an IPA instead, but otherwise it’s a good place.
