I asked if the starter was gluten free and was informed it was. I ordered some tacos. I was about to eat them when I thought to ask the waitress if they were gluten free. She then showed me a card showing a long list of meals containing Robertson spices and not safe for gluten intolerant or coeliacs, and a much smaller list of gluten free meals. What I had ordered was not gluten free - it had the spices. They did not offer to refund me despite that I had informed them I could only eat gluten free food.

The experience coming here was exceptional! Although not advertised gluten free and no dedicated kitchen, the staff went (very literally) out of their way to make sure everything was gluten free for me. Lara, the manager, checked every ingredient and even went to the storeroom to double check everything. Phumela was our waitress, she was absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable too. I had the taquitos (no gluten in the fryer) and sides of rice, beans, and Guac. Absolutely recommended!

This was the absolute best restaurant we found in Cape Town. Visiting from the US, I have celiacs. There is no gluten free menu. The staff was incredibly well educated on celiacs and was so helpful in ensuring my meal was made with care. Additionally, they suggested several ways in which they could adapt menu items to suite my needs. I can highly recommend the chicken mole! Really incredible and friendly staff!

Wonderful little place with safe gluten free options. This was my favorite stop in all of South Africa. I highly recommend eating here if you are driving down the Cape.
