No long longer celiac safe. The past three visits I have gluten reactions which is disappointing as I really used to enjoy eating here. I can’t pinpoint what it is but my guess is that they have added flour tortilla to more tacos and there must be more cross contaminations. The frying is definitely not celiac safe but even skipping any fried foods (chips, plantains, brussels sprouts) wasn’t enough to avoid getting sick.

I am updating my review because they’ve changed the menu. The fried fish is no longer gluten-free and the guacamole no longer seems homemade. The chips are still safe, and many of the tacos can be made with corn tortillas. We usually inform our server that she has a gluten allergy and the kitchen takes precautions to prevent cross-contamination. Some items have changed over the years and it’s no longer feeling worth the money to me.

You really have to make sure the staff understands gluten free. They do not have a GF dedicated fryer so avoid anything fried. I have eaten there a lot of times and have only gotten sick once.

I asked about the tortilla chips and the head chef told me they were gluten free- made from maiz and rice flour/ and fried in a fryer just for the chips. I am celiac so I waited til the next day to write a review (: I ordered the grilled fish tacos/ subbed on corn flour tortillas. I asked the chef to prepare my meal in a clean separate pan. Our server was more than accommodating but you need to go out of your way when ordering to “secure” a safe meal (: I feel fine and really enjoyed my dinner and plan on going back!

The staff was very knowledgeable but still brought out something that was not gluten free - luckily, I didn’t chow down immediately. Also, possibly the grossest tacos, nachos, beans I have ever tasted... go get ice cream afterwards across the street - much better!!!

Nice taco selection. Chips are fried in a gluten free fryer. Nice outdoor seating area.
