I had the patacones - a delicious fried patty of smashed plantains, served with beans, salsa, cheese & mixed chicken and beef. Absolutely delicious and fun to eat. Server was knowledgeable and assured me it was GF. I’ve had no gluten reaction afterward. Prices very reasonable. 7,900 Colones ($22 Canadian) for dinner. I’ll go back for breakfast. :)
Delicious. No dedicated gf menu however server was fully aware if celiac and pointed me away from fajitas. He suggested the Casado plate. I can’t mine with chicken. It’s been a few hours and I feel absolutely fine. It was delicious. Highly recommended your gluten-free.
Came here twice, didn't get sick either time, and the food is very good! Easy/straight forward soda type restaurant, simple but delicious. Not a lot of English spoke, but I had my gluten and dairy translation card and they were very careful to check things for me, and even packed my food in a separate container from my family's food. It is helpful to know "sin gluten", which is without gluten. Sin lacteos if you also avoid dairy.
Caution I am not sure if I'm Celiac (had already stopped eating it when they tested me), but I take gluten and dairy pills for cross contamination anytime I eat out. I reacted badly to Indian food last night, pretty sure that was gluten.
