I feel pretty confident that there was little to no cross contamination. They use a separate oven and kitchen space to make the gluten free pizza, I would just specify you have celiac disease/can have no gluten cc to ensure they use that space. Although it was celiac safe, the gluten free pizza did not taste good at all. The dough wasn’t properly cooked and tasted bad.

Had a really good experience here! Waiter was knowledgeable when I said that I had celiac and brought up cross contact. Said the pizzas are prepared in a separate area and cooked on their own metal plate so they aren’t coming into contact with any regular pizza crumbs. Lots of fun options for topping, and the pizza was pretty good! VERY thin crust, which I personally like but I know isn’t some people’s preference. Most importantly-I didn’t get sick!

Ella's is a good pizza place. For $2 extra, they have gluten free pizza for any pizza on the menu. Good place to go before a show in the Wallet Arena once block down.

We love Ella’s and have been eating here for years. The staff is fantastic and several of them have been working there for over 10 years, which is remarkable and almost unheard of in the restaurant business. This clearly tells me they value and take care of their staff.

Good, fresh ingredients. They have gluten free options and take precautions. I’ve been eating their GF pizza since 2012 and never have any issues.

Strongly recommend. Enjoy!

Service is ok, waiter check on us once and wasn’t even going to take our plates away before bring pizza expect us to eat off the salad plates. Their food is bland, no flavor has to through lots of stuff to make it taste good. We were disappointed to say the least. Don’t waste your money.

The regular pizzas were very good, and the service was excellent. They have a GF pizza crust, but they really overcooked my daughter's GF pizza, so I don't think they know how to cook it properly. I didn't send it back, though, so I didn't give them a chance to fix it, which I'm sure they would have.

I am staying in DC for a volleyball tournament and it's always hard to find gluten free things away from home. Ella's was amazing! Great service and I had no problems with the pizza (I have Celiac). One of the best pizza places I've ever been to!

We are regulars. I appreciate that they offer gluten free pizza crust and vegan cheese since I'm gluten and lactose intolerant. Service is always prompt and friendly!

Gf accommodation was good, including the server recognizing before bringing one of our pizzas that the kitchen made it on a regular crust by accident. Gf pizza crust not very good; mussels portion was tiny. But there is a separate gf menu, and many interesting gf toppings for the pizzas

Located in the heart of Washington, DC's Gallery Place/Chinatown neighborhood, Ella's Wood Fired Pizza is the perfect spot to hang out after a basketball game, hockey match or a concert at the Verizon Center. The Neopolitaninspired menu features a variety of wood fired pizzas, all of which can be made using a glutenfree crust. Try out the Wild Mushroom or the Sausage Pizza. Oh, so good...All of the salads can be prepared gluten-free by simply omitting the croutons. My personal favorite is the Orange & Beet Salad which features an orange-balsamic vinaigrette, arugula & crumbled goat cheese. Check out Ella's for Happy Hour weekdays from 4pm-7pm for amazing drink specials and $5 pizzas!

They'll make any pizza on a gf crust, which is pretty thin and crackery. I don't know if the crust is vegan (I've never asked, but I'm lactose intolerant and I've never reacted to it). They're quick enough that you can get in & out in an hour lunch break but get pretty crowded for dinner, especially when the Caps are at home. Expect to wait a bit for a table.
