No reaction. The dumplings were good, but their take on orange beef is quite odd.

One of my favorite restaurants in Portland! Not only can they make most dishes gluten free, they can make them safe for celiacs. There is a hefty amount of gluten free options. Also, the orange beef is a must try🤤

Went for lunch so didn’t have to deal with the wait. Felt pretty safe eating there and they even had gluten free dumplings! Yummy and fresh. It was great for vegetarians too!

Worth the long wait- but some times it happens. I don’t fault them for a wait because clearly it’s for a reason. I was really satisfied with my skewers and dumplings and it was all reasonably priced. It’s not cheap Chinese that I kinda miss - but it’s good.

Recent review of 1 star was bogus. There is a 1 page menu. 12 items on that menu are GF. Food is amazing, and the crowd waiting is further proof that this is one of the best restaurants on the street. Waiter was knowledgeable and gf tamari was provided.

Absolutely fabulous. I tested every item with my Nima Sensor and it was all gluten free. Be sure to tell them you have celiac disease and need GF tamara sauce for your dumplings. They are so nice and obviously super careful. Family run business. I can’t wait to go back!

Very accommodating with multiple allergies. My husband and daughter have Celiac, and he is also DF, soy free, and doesn't eat eggs. They were able to make substitutions. The orange beef, pork dumplings, and hot and sour soup were delicious. My husband was able to get Lobster Dim-Sum that was GF, DF, and soy free. He was able to have a broccoli and noodle stir-fry with beef (substituted the original dish of kale for broccoli). We would definitely return!

Yes, well marked menu and knowledgeable staff. Crazy good food. Ask for Tamari vs. soy sauce. One draw back, I get crazy dehydrated from the sodium at this restaurant

The best Chinese food I've ever had in my life. No exaggeration. It wasn't greasy at all! They were very careful when I told them I had celiac and the waiter reassured me that he kitchen takes precautions. I recommend the ginger fried rice and the pork and lobster dumplings. The green beans are awesome too.

There are so many gluten free options here you may have to visit a few times to check everything out. The bacon fried rice was amazing. I have not been able to find gluten free dumplings at any restaurants in Boston. Empire has multiple choices. They were also very accommodating with small substitutions such as removing corn from some of the dishes. So this is definitely a place you have to check out.
