I haven’t had Chinese since I was diagnosed and I was starting to think I never would. This place is amazing! Might come back to Portland just to have GF dumplings again 😭. I also had green beans, and ginger friend rice but pork dumplings stole the show. Staff is very knowledgeable and I felt very safe. Definitely recommend!

Safe Chinese food is so hard to come by and with Empire you get safe and tasty food! I love their dumplings, orange beef, bacon fried rice, and their green beans! Everything is soooo delicious.

So so so good! We stopped by Monday PM and unfortunately they had a 55 minute wait to sit for 2 and don’t take reservations. We ordered online and it was DELICIOUS. This is the first time I had chinese food since being GF (a friend recommended it for being super celiac safe). We had the orange beef, green beans, pork dumplings, bacon fried rice, and hot and sour soup; everything was excellent. I would totally order everything again but you must try the green beans!! I’m also allergic to shellfish and they cooked my order separately from everyone else. Highly recommend.

To start off I want to be very clear that my nima capsules expired in July and it's now the end of September and I don't know what that does to the results. I got take out on a slow Friday night and my nima said all gluten free and I didn't get sick. I'm a very sensitive celiac and I definitely would have gotten sick if it was wrong. I went again on a very busy Saturday night and every dish resulted with gluten so I didn't eat it. If you don't have a nima and are very sensitive I don't recommend.

Went here for dinner and did not get sick. Had two types of dumplings, Bok choy, and the broccoli noodles. Everything was tasty but not spectacular or particularly interesting. However, as someone with celiac, being able to have even “basic” Chinese food is a treat.

Yum!! The menu was easy to navigate which items were GF. When ordering online, you can denote if you are Celiac. I assume that would mean they would take extra precautions. I ordered the pork dumplings and am very happy with my selection. They were delicious! I am already looking forward to my next trip to Portland to try the shrimp dumplings!

I LOOOOOVEEEE THIS PLACE SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! The food is such a treat!!! The menu is clearly labeled; there is an option to mark “celiac” when ordering online. I have eaten here many times now and have NEVER gotten sick.

I love the GF shiitake corn dumplings, the eggplant, the chicken skewers, the green beans to name just a few! They pack gluten free tamari in the takeout bags. Looking forward to when they open up dine-in again.

I'm not sure what happened really. I bought a bunch of different meals all labeled GF, selected celiac in the order and my daughter is throwing up. She only throws up from gluten. Cc doesn't bother her like that. Everyone had such good things to say and I was so hopeful. We won't be dining here again.

Delicious! Got the ginger fried rice and broccoli noodles. So good and fresh!!! Also, GLUTEN FREE HOT AND SOUR!!!!!!! I got two because I haven’t found gf j&j anywhere. Incredibly delicious!! I can’t always tell when I’m sick so I can’t say for certain it’s safe, but given that they have a button to press to tell them you’re celiac (❤❤) I feel confident!!

Incredible dumplings. Soft and flavorful. Orange beef, garlic green beans, eggplant, bacon fried rice; everything was amazingly tasty! Currently only providing takeout but we brought an insulated bag and drove it 30min away. It was still hot when we got home. Totally worth the drive!!

The last few times we’ve gotten takeout so many items tested positive (strong positives) for gluten on my Nima sensor that my son and I were left hungry. I don’t know what changed in the kitchen as a result of the pandemic but I don’t feel safe eating here anymore.

We ordered bacon fried rice and pork dumplings. They are fantastic! The owner was very helpful. She only uses gluten free tamari. They specifically ask if you are celiac and it even asks in their online ordering app. You can’t currently eat in, but I still recommend it highly!

This was my favorite thing we ate while in Maine! They have gluten free dumplings and many other menu items were marked gluten free. They even have you choose celiac with each food item when you order online so that was very reassuring. Freaking yum! This place is super popular so call ahead but the pork dumplings and orange beef were delicious! And the staff was knowledgeable!
