We came here based on the great reviews but when I asked the employee about the gluten free options and if there was a shared fryer, pointing to the GF list on the counter, she picked it up, read it and said “huh! I’ve been working here since august and have never read this!”. She clearly hadn’t received any training on gluten free protocols and when I asked I was told everything is cooked on a shared cooktop.

I’m afraid this is a place that slaps on the gluten free label but isn’t at all celiac safe. I ended up getting some snacks from the Safeway nearby instead.

Lots of gluten-free options. I had the Hawaiian Combo to get a taste of local food. Although I wasn’t a fan of the flavor of the Pork Lau Lau, I was thankful to have the option to try it here safely. The Kaula pig was very tasty. My family had other menu items and enjoyed their choices as well. I will come here again when I visit the area.

The food was delicious and they were knowledgeable about gluten free and cross contamination! They even have a sign on their counter when you walk in with the gluten-free options (they even have catering for gluten-free). Currently they are not allowing in door seating, but you can order online (the online menu is clearly marked with what is gluten-free). The portions are a very good size. My husband and I probably could have just split one plate, but we wanted to be able to try more, so we just ended up with leftovers! 😋

I saw that the menu online had gluten free options and I was eyeing the Mochiko chicken. I called and asked if it was pan fried or deep fried and they said deep fried but the fryer is only used for chicken and their chicken dishes are gluten free. So I went for it - delicious and I didn’t get sick! My husband does solidarity gf and he had the Hawaiian combo and said it was also yummy.
