Our favorite GF Ramen in Japan that we had tried. We ate here twice! Everything is offered gluten free including the dumpling soup which is also delicious. Order both! The gluten free beer was really good too!
The best ramen ever!! They did such a great job making me feel safe eating here and even brought my gf ramen in a different color bowl. Overall amazing experience and so yummy!

Great zesty miso ramen. Also a regular ramen for kids or others who want less spice. GF and vegan options.
Excellent meal. Had the zesty ramen with gf noodles and it was great. Rest of family enjoyed their meal too ( standard noodles). Ate on Sunday night and place was very busy, took a number and was told 40-50 min wait but we were able to walk around market whilst we waited.
Enjoyed the ramen and ready loved the dumplings. Ran out of time but considered going twice.

Very tasty ramen and dumplings. Had spicy pork ramen and chicken dumplings. The dumplings were out of this world. Very happy I went. Also had the gf beer which was decent. Felt pretty comfortable on their gf policies and did not get sick.
Spicy ramen and pork dumplings were delicious. So much flavour. Had gf beer too. Busy place but we went early and got in quickly. Had limited success elsewhere in Kyoto so we ate here twice.
The advertised as all ramen dishes could be made with gf noodles. However we were told only the vegetarian/vegan options were available. Disappointing. The food was very good.
Absolutely delicious and worth the wait. Super accommodating and have GF beer too. Not a dedicated kitchen but worth the wait for sure. We LOVED it, even my food snobby non celiac cousins agreed
Had a great meal here! Was very busy when we arrived for dinner, it’s a popular place. It was worth the wait for the gluten free ramen! They also had a Japanese gluten free beer which was great. All the sides were also gluten free.
Great food. Hard to find. Location- on the backside of the Kyoto Owl’s Forest building down the alleyway. Go in and ask for a number if a line outside. Very quick service.

How lucky are we to find a GF dumpling. Had the dumplings, fried rice and ramen. Very yummy. The staff were great.
Best GF Ramen in Kyoto ❤ I felt safe eating there, and they are open late making it very flexible to eat when there aren’t a lot of other options available.
It was pretty expensive ¥4,000 for two bowls of pretty mediocre ramen. It was mostly broth with one little piece of meat and barely any toppings. Definitely tastes like it is made for and catered to tourists.
So delicious & serve gluten-free noodles in Ramen. Menu talks about why the started serving gluten-free so you feel sage. Very busy so recommend you get there early for lunch or dinner.

The food was amazing! The people who work there were so pleasant and knowledgeable about gluten free choices. A must if you’re in Kyoto - but be prepared for a long wait to get in!

Amazing gluten free ramen! 🍜 The menu has gluten free items clearly marked and explained that they take food allergies very seriously. Everything on the menu can be made gluten free. The ramen both is all ok and you only need to request the gluten free noodles. All side items are gluten free and they have gluten free beer as well. :) the food was absolutely delicious and I could not recommend more!
They also have pork free options for those who need halal and vegetarian options. Other possible allergens marked on the menu.
This place is so great if you’re gluten free + vegetarian/vegan. They have ramen and soup dumplings and plenty of alcoholic drinks that are gluten free. Didn’t have any issues!
Did not get glutenated. Broth was really tasty, noodles were a good texture, and the atmosphere was great. They also have a gluten free beer!

Kyoto Engine Ramen is a true gem for anyone seeking a delicious gluten-free option in Japan. After a week of searching, our first bite was a sigh of relief. The ramen is incredibly fresh, bursting with flavor, and utterly satisfying. We loved it so much, we ordered seconds! Highly recommend for a cool, yum, and delightful dining experience.

Many gluten free options (even the soup dumplings)! Good plum wine, but the gf ramen was more like spaghetti and the soup was so-so, overrated imo.
Gluten Free rice noodles & beer available. Menu states GF. I asked for the Gf option.
This was truly some of the best ramen I’ve ever had and they offered gf options! All the ramen and the dumpling bowls could be made gf. They serve tea at the beginning that is also gf.
The staff was super friendly and they had an anime and fun music playing in the background. I also enjoyed the bibs and the origami chopstick holder that you can make while waiting for your food. Highly recommend.

It's a small, based in two levels. The staffs speaks very good English.
Ramen was so delicious! The broth was so rich...alsmost thick. They offer gluten free noodles, which tasted great. They also have gluten free beer. Besides that they have vegan options.

Amazing amazing ramen! Not a designated gluten free place but very conscious of it, lots of signs and mentions whether sides and vinegars etc are gluten free All ramen there can be gluten free Gluten free beer also.
Went here after a long night of searching for food with my boyfriend and had the best gluten-free meal I’ve had in Japan. I ordered the Genuine miso ramen with chicken soup dumplings and came back the next day to order again. It truly is a must visit when in Kyoto for the good food and the very friendly staff with good vibes and greater music.
Dedicated GF
Even if they are not GF dedicated, all the ramen may be served with GF noodles. Taste is very good and portions are big. They also have a Japanese gluten free beer (7,5% alcohol). Waiters are aware about gluten free and easy to tell them.
I was cautious about this place in advance of going as I had read some concerns from people about being glutened. However, I had some then waited then had a little more (my usual "worry" process for new or dodgy seeming places!) The taste was great and I did not feel ill. We ate here 3 times in total and each time was great. I would feel confident to recommend this place to others.
Great place that really understands gluten intolerance and coeliac disease. Every dish can be made gluten free by substituting the wheat noodles for rice noodles. For those visiting from overseas, they also have a menu in English and most of the staff also speak English if you need to discuss any concerns.
Delicious!!! Exciting to be able to have the ramen experience GF! The original zesty is not too spicy. I will be back.
Ramen tasted amazing and I trusted all the reviews and the waiters that it was gf. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel too well afterwards but that could also be related to the huge amount of spring onions that usually also upset my stomach. Can’t say for sure

Had a great time here, saw a review that said they no longer serve gluten free noodles, untrue still have all allergy options including gluten free. Ramen was really nice, as was the owner. Definelty recommend it.
Moved on to Kyoto and just ate the most incredible ramen noodle bowl. Mine was made with gluten free noodles. All Gluten free and vegan. Hubby had a chicken option, Seriously great food. My first proper meal in 12 days after being in Tokyo and Osaka.
We had a very nice ramen there and it was gluten free, we found many other celiacs and vegetarians there
