This place had genuinely the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I had to wait a few minutes after approaching the counter because the workers were gossiping with each other and ignoring me until the manager came up and made them help me. I told the woman taking my order that I had celiac disease if she could please be especially careful about cross contamination. She did not acknowledge what I said so I reiterated and asked her to please change her gloves for the order. She actually rolled her eyes at me and huffed and said “yeah I GET it” and stormed off. The food was pretty good when I got it (albeit cold) but I got a gluten rash afterwards. 0/10 would not order here again
I asked all the right questions regarding their protocol for food allergies. They responded in a way that seemed legit— one staff changed gloves and went in back to pull from fresh ingredients. Within 20-30 mins after eating only half of the mediocre salad I started getting symptoms of exposure. I have celiac disease and I am allergic to wheat products. I am very sensitive to cross contamination. I wouldn’t eat here again, and cannot in good faith recommend it to other celiacs. I wish airports had more reliable options for folks with food allergies.
as someone with celiac, i felt safe eating here. they already have celiac and gluten free protocols in place and prepared my food separately from the rest. the portion sizes are good and for airport food, it wasn’t terribly expensive. i got their jalapeño business bowl and loved it!
Great service, as soon as I said I was gluten free/celiac they walked away and changed gloves. Every salad gets a new bowl and pair of tongs so I felt CC wasn’t an issue combined with the glove change. Got the El Sombrero with no cheese (I am DF) and it was yum!!!! You can also download the dietary info on the evergreens website to further review the salad and dressing ingredients, etc. Can definitely count on this place having a safe salad with a little protein so i’m not so hungry at the airport 👍🏼👍🏼
Menu items clearly labeled. When I mentioned Celiac, the person stopped the regular flow of what they were doing, went over the menu items with me to make sure they were all ok and changed their gloves. They went in the back and made the salad there, away from the bar counter. Tip top service and wonderful food! I feel great, no reactions. I’ll make this a habit when I’m in SeaTac.
I was a little nervous about how busy they were that they would have cross contamination but I talked to the server and she seemed confident when I told her no gluten and she said “so no almonds?”. I agreed if they could have gluten. They went down the line and nothing could have had gluten until the end so it is set up well to be GF. I got the quinoa super bowl and it was great! I did not get sick and a ton of food!
Excellent experience! Server changed gloves and grabbed clean utensil, explained that only surface that could cross-contaminate was the counter (and that he wouldn’t allow the utensil to touch the counter)… even clarified w/ the manager on-duty that the dressing was GF before adding to my dish! Great portion size, packaged for take-away… so grateful to have found a safe spot in the airport for a safe, healthy meal!
So beyond impressed. Changed gloves, special utensils and bowls, and all fresh ingredients out of the back. Pretty much eliminated all possibilities of cross-contamination
The staff member changed her gloves as soon as I said the word allergy. She was very knowledgeable and helped me pick something that was free of both gluten and dairy (only one option on the menu was gf and vegan, but I’m sure you could customize others to make them safe).
Staff was very knowledgeable, barely got the word celiac out and he was already changing his gloves. All bowls used to mix salads are clean and not reused. All utensils are clean and only used for item intended. Each topping has its own tongs, no using hands to grab ingredients. Lots of options, granted this is a salad place, and I’m not always up for a salad but it was a very excellent salad. Also they have gf cookies and brownies in their own packaging.
All GF items marked on the menu. When I said I was celiac the manager took over the order. All fresh items were taken from the cooler instead of the serving bins (to ensure no cross contamination) and cooked items were taken from the kitchen instead of the bins. Really appreciated how much care they took to make my order safe.
It's hit or miss if I get cc'd from here or not. I went today and watched a server pick up a tortilla and then dip the entire salad measuring bowl into the lettuce. After today I will not be returning due to cross contamination fears. Which is a bummer because it was one of my favorite places in the area.
