I never really gave much thought to being GF. As a Chef, it does have some creative challenges. But my son Joel was dead set on being GF from day one. So we sourced, tested, and tested again until we were happy with the results that bring authentic flavors of Asia to Calgary and most importantly to a group of folks that get a bum wrap sometimes as chefs can't be bothered to go that extra mile. We will ensure that we remain diligent in keeping our restaurant safe for you to enjoy great food. Our catering options are also GF so that graduation, a wedding or just Saturday night, we have you covered. Joel and Jeff

We took the LONG drive down to visit Expatasia in the Avenida Food Hall. I was so excited to try their food as the whole stand is GF. We opted for the Pork belly and Cauliflower bite plate. I was blown away! Every bite was so tasty. It was a real treat being able to pick anything i wanted. Two downsides...... They are so far from our house (i guess we could move but then i would be broke from constantly visiting) and there is always a line up (which is actually great as they are doing something right). Thanks so much!!

So excited to find this amazing 100% gluten free, dairy free restaurant. Love the location. Not being local to Calgary, it’s a VERY easy stop on the way out of the city. After a recent trip to SE Asia, this food hit the spot perfectly. Both my husband and I had incredible meals. We ordered the Pork Belly Meal and the Singapore Fried Noodles with chicken and a fried egg. Both dishes were packed full of flavor. The pork belly was cooked perfectly with a crispy exterior and the gravy was literally the best I’ve ever had (not even kidding - I usually skip gravy because I’m very picky with sauces). The Singapore noodles were unmatched. Needless to say, this place blew our minds. I’m already daydreaming about my next visit. Thank you Expat Asia for making incredible food.

This whole stall at the Avenida food market is gluten free! It is so delicious and I love it so much. They have a poutine that is delicious and so much more. It’s a favourite of mine and fantastic for an food experience. Highly recommend!

Went to Expatasia for Xmas meal with my staff - two of us have celiac disease. The food was amazing, service was excellent and everything was gluten-free. One of my favourite Calgary food stalls. They also offer a lot of frozen options that you can take home. Prices reasonable too.

The whole restaurant is 100% Gluten Free.
This is a must try for celiacs.

My first time at Expat Asia! I ordered the Singapore Rice with pork and added a fried egg, and got the Tiger Cauliflower to share. The Singapore Rice was a little too spicy for my liking, but who cares because I can’t remember the last time I had something cooked to such crisp perfection than the pork and those cauliflower bites… oh my… SO GOOD!!! Also, the sauce on the cauliflower was mouth-watering!!! I’ll definitely be going back to try more dishes! Fringe benefit: this restaurant is located in a super lively and fun local market!
FYI: They said that they were certified gluten-free since the Canadian Celiac Association came and checked them out and said they were happy with what they were doing. Super!!!

100% gluten free and awesome! Staff go above and beyond and will offer samples to help you choose. They can also do dairy free.

Totally GF and delicious. I had the burnt ends and the spicy soy chicken wings. Both were amazing, and the wings might have been the best I’ve had. So crispy and juicy!

Oh my word. So. Delicious! This restaurant is 100% gluten free. I had the Korean Baby Back Ribs and they are to die for! Coated in rice flour so they are slightly crispy on the outside. Generous helping of Kimchi. Flavours are true to the real thing. This place is located within the super fun market in Avenida Village. Definitely will be back!

Expat Asia is a great find. Entirely gf and dairy free.Located in the Avenida Fool Hall on Lake Fraser drive. I go a few times a month. The food hall is only open Thursday- Sundays.The Sampler plate, The pork belly dishes and the sweet wings are my Favorites.
